If you are adventurous, like to travel, close to height/weight proportionate, fun to be with, like whom you are, like new experiences, reasonably fit but not a fitness fanatic, eat healthy food but not a health nut, know what you want, maybe a bit of a risk taker… then please read on.

About me: I have spent most of my life in a suit and tie but these days you will most likely find me in jeans and t-shirts. If the occasion calls for it though, I still enjoy getting dressed up. Now in a new season of life, I plan on following my passions. I am taking pleasure in expressing the artistic and creative side of me through photography. In the last few years I have sold my work in galleries, retail stores, and outdoor markets. I am currently transitioning the marketing of my images to the internet.

I am very adventurous and a risk taker. I love to use my hands restoring things. I am considered to be above average intelligence, a good conversationalist and charming. I am comfortable in any social environment. I am an extrovert and aggressive but have learned not to be pushy or controlling. I am always learning something new and stay quite busy. I am goal oriented but in a relaxed manner. I prefer a quiet night with dinner at home or with friends than at bars or nightclubs.

I have very eclectic tastes in music. You will find my radio dial is set on jazz, soft rock, country, and blues. I am middle of the road politically but love to know and try to understand those with differing views. I listen to both conservative and liberal viewpoints. I read non-fiction to become better informed. Also, for the pure enjoyment of reading I like well written fiction. I watch TV but it is usually on in the background unless I am purposely watching something I really like. I currently like "Mad Men" on AMC. As for movies, I like drama, action or comedy. I am challenged by, and place high on my list, movies and books that have hidden messages. My favorites of this genre are "American Rose", "One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest" and "No Country for Old Men." I would rather watch a good movie on the home theater system, but if there is a good movie that I just can't wait for I will go to the movie theater.

I love to travel (gypsy blood they say) and have been to all but three of the states. I have also been to several European countries and Mexico. I would like to return to all of them. I am set for very comfortable class A motorhome RV travel and would like to meet someone who would enjoy that style of travel. Someone to join me in short trips to the coast, the mountains, or Canada as well as more extended trips. When I travel it is not just for site seeing. I travel to learn and to experience the people and the places. I hope to document my future journeys.

I am a Christian but I am not a fanatic. I believe that our relationship with our creator is very personal. I would never press my beliefs on anyone. I value experiences more than things. I have learned that you can own things but things can also own you. I am conscientious about waste of time and resources. I do not care to waste either on things that are meaningless. We only have so much life energy and should use it wisely. With that said, I classify myself as a generous man who plays well with others and shares with others. I would describe myself as a country gentleman with sophisticated tastes. I prefer dinner at home (I'm a good cook) but I like to go out a few times a month too.

I am interested in a long term lasting relationship but realize that it is a process that can be different under each set of circumstances and that casual dating will probably be a part of that. There are different paths that can lead to the same destination. I wish they had a category that you could check that said "Dating 1st/ LTR 2nd". I don't know how it is for you, but I think if there is chemistry that this can be determined when you first meet. To determine if there is going to be a long term relationship takes time. I think this "getting to know and appreciate each other time" is very exciting and pleasurable.

I am non-controlling and respect and appreciate the differences in the sexes. I am a gentle, caring, loving man. I will always respect you and never ever be rude or crude. I believe there is nothing more pleasing than the tender touch of someone that truly loves you. There is nothing more exciting than being with someone where passion is shared. There is nothing more special than being with that person that is supportive of what you do. I believe there is much that can be learned from our differences and that differences add to the richness of a relationship. It is, in fact, these differences that I appreciate. I believe that when two people combine their talents, interests, labors and resources that they will have the best relationship and live the most satisfying life.

I am not possessive (we all need freedom and some alone time) but expect the appropriate degree of respect that should be afforded to each other. I value the feminine woman who is not afraid to express herself intellectually, emotionally and physically. If you can appreciate that, then come and play with me. I promise, we will experience a lot, learn a lot and laugh a lot. Perhaps it will be that long term relationship that we are looking for.

PS: I will try to respond to anyone who messages me. I am, however, a very visual person so recent, full body shot, clear pictures are very important. Part of growth is learning about your own self. In my case, I have learned that there must be a physical attraction. I am not a large man so I am not compatible with big women. I hope that is understandable. The ideal "FIRST date" for me would be meeting the first time for a cup of coffee (or tea), at some quite and secure public place. I love meeting new people and would not want to be distracted when we are trying to communicate on so many levels. A non-threatening neutral environment is important too. On the first date I would not expect anything other than possibly the most casual touch. I would be hoping for chemistry and compatibility. These are very important. From there it would depend upon where our hearts and minds lead us. Perhaps we would just part with the understanding that there should be no further contact. Perhaps we would begin a nice friendship. Perhaps it would be the begining of something truly wonderful.

The "IDEAL date", however, would be much different.

I am very much a romantic and I am also a visual person so an early afternoon stop at an outdoor cafe where we could sip on our favorite drink, watch the people, discuss our day, and delight in the scenery would be a good start. From there it would be to a movie, to a play, an art gallery, a visit to a museum or exploring antique shops. This could be followed by dinner at a romantic restaurant where we could continue enjoying each other’s company. Perhaps friends could join us as well. We would stay out late, but not too late. After all, there would be the rest of the night to enjoy...
