Too often I'm wedded to my work because new opportunities and possibilities are emerging almost daily, and I enjoy being on the cutting edge and am constantly looking to find new/more efficient ways of achieving my goals. I guess I am a nerd at heart because I enjoy most things computer-related, especially social media,e.g Facebook and a few others.
When the weather permits and my knee allows I truly enjoy golf, but I have no winter sports interests. I am comfortable watching television rather than trekking through snow.

I enjoy and actually write a lot, for personal pleasure, as well a out of professional necessity. Re: goals and aspirations I will explain in detail when we talk.

I am a Chicago native and have lived throughout the Midwest,working as a newspaper reporter, editor or online editor. I was blessed at 13 years old to know that I wanted a newspaper career and pursued it relentlessly until I achieved it. It is my first passion, right ahead of politics..Oh do I love politics. I have managed several campaigns successfully but the pace wears on you, so it would take an exceptional candidate to get me back in that game.

My interests are pretty broad and often changing - from the origin of words and our language, to human behavior issues. Friends tell me I don't suffer fools graciously and I see no real reason I should. And if I am your friend you can count on me in all circumstances, but you also have to be prepared to hear the truth.

I think music truly is soothing for the soul and it can be a variety of types, but my faves are Earth Wind & Fire, the (real) Isley Bros., the Dells and the Commodores. My fave author is Langston Hughes.

A first date would have to involve some time at Lake Michigan - it is the most magnificent, yet humbling experience we all can have. Maybe it would be a walk along part of the lake shore, or if the weather is nasty just watching the waves from the car. Hopefully, she would enjoy the view from the top of the John Hancock Building where we'd have our meals. I'd be looking for a very relaxed getting to know one another conversation over dinner. And from there the structured date would end and the spontaneous part, based upon our mutual interests, things we learned about one another earlier could take over.
