About Me
I'm relatively recently out of a relationship, so I'm not looking to dive into anything with wild abandon just yet. But I am interested in starting to test the waters, learn about and meet new people.

I love being in my body: I swim in the bay (I am a proud new member of the Dolphin Club in SF), I run, I train at a circus school (my community and work home-base) in partner acrobatics, aerial, and juggling. I don't always get to it, but I'm usually happiest when I'm getting regular exercise. I'm very petite (5'0" and 104lbs) but curvy; in part because I'm small, I look much younger than I am (I am frequently confused at the school where I work for one of the college kids I mentor!).

I also love using my mind: I read, I write, I think, I am a lifelong autodidact. I love science and non-fiction. Despite only having a Bachelor's degree (in English Literature - I'm applying to Masters programs in Psychology for next fall), I love academia, was an excellent and enthusiastic student and want never to stop learning things. I don't equate education with intelligence, but I do want a partner who is articulate, open-minded, and who will inspire me with his bright mind and curiosity about the world.

I have spent my life working as a performing artist and arts educator in theater and circus (another way of being fully in my body while also exercising my mind), and in addition to these things I now also work as an administrator for a professional arts training program - a challenging job which I love. As a circus arts and theater teacher, I have worked with both adults and children, often with at-risk youth populations, in many different environments; currently most of my teaching is with two different private students, both of whom are on the Autism spectrum. I love working with these kids and their families, and much of my interest in pursuing a psychology degree is motivated by an interest to learn more about how I can use my skills as an artist and teacher to reach children who need help. Because I'm applying to school, I'm performing less at the moment - but I love theater and circus as mediums of communication and wonder, and I plan on performance always being part of my life, in one capacity or another.

I have an enormous capacity for joy and for love. I'm very playful, affectionate and expressive, but I can be dead serious when I need to be. I feel things strongly, but I'm also very grounded and rational. I usually enjoy one-on-one time with people much more than big group events, but I'm not averse to a party every now and again. Can't live without access to the city - but I thrive in the outdoors. I'm very honest and also very communicative; whether something's bothering me or delighting me, I say so! I want my partner to do the same. I'm not into self-indulgent, endless emotional processing - but I do really to be with someone who is emotionally self-aware, empathic, and able to talk about his feelings. While I'm very connective, I also need a degree of solitude - and I am good at giving that kind of space to my partner in turn.

My whole life, I have dreamed of living an adventurous and creative life filled with interesting people, events, surprises - and I have found these things! I want to continue on my passionate, unconventional path - but I want to share it with a partner, and I want the adventure to include a child. I'm not interested in rushing into something for the sake of "getting there on time"; I want to find the right match, and I'm okay starting slow enough to really see if both the chemistry and also the goals are in sync.

Speaking of chemistry: Yes, I adore sex, I'm very comfortable with my body and sexuality, I'm GGG (Dan Savage reference! Look it up!), I'm good at communicating about sex, I've had relationships with women as well as men (so please be queer-friendly) and I am blessed with the libido of a fourteen-year-old boy!

Also - the photo is relatively recent, but I've grown my hair out :)

Oh. And I'm really, really, really silly.

First Date
A great first date for me would be on a beautiful day, outside in some beautiful place, with enough privacy and opportunity for sitting down and talking. It could be as simple as picking up coffee at Duboce Park Cafe (or ice cream at the BiRite? Mmmmmm!) and then walking to the park and finding a place on the grass to sit and talk. If we hit it off, we could go for dinner too. I love hikes, museums, movies and all that - but for a first date less distraction is better for me; just being able to talk and get to know one another, in a quiet place, on a pretty day, would delight me.
