I love being with people who are as "positively energetic" as me. Do you enjoy being told how attractive you are? I enjoy playfully flirting with romantic interests, but it's tough to meet people in this town.

I am a scientist by day, who enjoys exercising his artsy talents with non-boring people when he can. My current "primary hobby" is directing movies. I like collaborating with other "creative types" to produce something others can enjoy (even if we only get 50 hits on youtube :)

But I'm not an immature starving artist. I teach medical students professionally, own my house and car, and am progressing towards a fulfilling job where I get to help people. Relationship-wise, I am transitioning between "care-free dating" of the early 20s and "too old to be dating at 35." So if you're just looking to have fun on a date, I'm more than happy to oblige. (I don't need to hear pitter patter of feet in 6 months.) But it's more fun/fulfilling to find a real relationship that leads to something special.

I enjoy planning a first date based on what we have in common. Do you love music? I was a band leader before I was a film director, so I enjoy the local scene. Have you always wanted to go to a Krannert Shakespeare performance? I started off in theater and improv comedy, so I admire live theater. Are you an outdoorsy/adventure type? I biked to Canada (cammping along the way) and, in high school, I started a community service project "Horses for the Handicapped." (But it is getting kind of cold for camping/riding lately :(

I also like sillily failing at stuff I'm bad at. It's amazing that I ever get a pool ball into a pocket!

But my favorite thing to do is a random road trip. If I'm free Sat/Sun, I've been known to drive to Memphis or Providence just because I've never been there before. I love sampling cuisine from obscure "Mom and Pop" restaurants along the highway and the feeling of an adventure that might happen around the next corner.

I prefer company and conversation over "wacky bungee cord jumping" first dates. Bad times are made better with fun people, and "classic dinner and drinks" dates are exceptional when you are with someone you are really connecting with.

So if you're a fun person who enjoys trying new experiences, if you like being romantically swept off your feet, and if you're hoping to maybe find a real relationship... what can I say? We belong together.
