About Me
AS time passes, I realize how important relationships are, and that my solitude is no longer a viable solution to my needs. I am independent in so many ways, livng outside of a small town surounded by trees with only my dog to keep me company. I do have a 17 year old daughter who lives at a boarding school 3 hours from here. I volunteer at the local high school assisting the Speech Team and often choreographing the Drama Department's musicals. Reading was a passion of mine and particularly enjoyed Robert Ludlum and John Grisham novels, but I am currently writing my autobiograhy. It has become a cathartic mission. The History and Science Channels get lots of use by me and I enjoy learning new theories and different perspectives on issues and set beliefs. Music has long been a passion of mine which I also have let slip away. Jazzz (the old stuff, Dave Brubeck, Woody Herman) Tom Scott, Foreplay, Manhatan Transfer, Spyro Gyro, too many to mention really. I love all music from Opera to Country Western but haven't quite cultivated a taste for Hip Hop or Rap. Somethings will never happen. This summer I am taking my daughter and several of her girlfriends to Costa Rica on a volunteer trek to Save the Sea Turtles. This will be the last summer we have before she goes off to College. I am looking to start a verbal relationship which may turn into something more. I want to travel, but not alone. Romance??? Always a possibility, but first an intellectual then emotional connection. I am semi-retired meaning there is not much available work here in a town of 14,000, but I have recently been a Census Worker and the gov't has offered me a full tme job which I have refused as I need my freedom. I am a liberal but can overlook someone being a conservative as long as they have an open mind. That's an oxymoron, sorry bout that, but what can I say..I'm a funny lady. I jog a mile most days with my dog. I sometimes lift weights and was a bodybuilder but that was years ago. I love trying new things. I believe that life is a banquet and we all must bring something to the table to share.
First Date
This is a hard one. Dinner and a movie is the easy one. However, sometimes cooking at home and talking by the fire will suffice. A rousing game of darts followed by a bonfire roasting corn and watching the stars. Later on, eating sushi and watching Bill Maher reruns. As the relationship progresses we would fly to Costa Rica where after a day of beachcombing and ziplining across the forest canopy we could be found in our bungalo surrounded by candlelight.............
