I am looking for dating to start - and hoping for a long-term relationship.

I am reasonably sane (never been institutionalized), somewhat good looking (yet to shatter any mirror), intelligent (so you say this an island???), relatively well-eductated (graduated from kindergarten), funny (or so I am pleased to believe), occasionally serious (but have never been accused of being boring), in half decent shape (only one foot in the grave).

I was in a relationship for 15 years and after it ended a number of years ago, have dated here and there and had two longer term relationships that didn't get to the living together point. I had some baggage, ok... more of a moving truck full to get rid of. Now that I am down to only a carry-on I believe I am ready to find and recognize that special one.


Cook, sew, iron, use a vacuum, do my laundry, pay my bills, create, fix, and make my bed in the morning among other things. So I don't need or want someone to take care of me, I can do that just fine. I am looking for my best friend, a partner, an equal to share good and not so good times with. Someone to share common interests with who also brings something new and refreshing to my table.

Other than that I am just a regular guy. More invested in the pursuit of happiness than money, I find more satisfaction in accumulating knowledge than things, and I get up in the morning trying to be a better man than I was the day before.

I enjoy dinners in or out, (I am an excellent cook), movies.... but I am kind of a homebody. I love a good discussion/debate/conversation about anything and everything, whether over a glass of wine (pinot noir is my favourite) or out the blue in the middle of the day or night.

The relationship I seek has no secrets, and both of us are willing and welcome to share their deepest thoughts and fantasies. At the same time I believe a healthy relationship doesn't require us to be together every minute of the day.
