About Me
WE MOVE THROUGH LIFE IN EVER-CHANGING DIFFERENT ERAS....for the most part, we don't see any of them coming.
I play some guitar and harmonica, music that makes me move lights my fire. I am very well-read. I have a twisted sense of humor, and I like good conversation that is smart, quick and funny....and I like girls that like all that. This is gonna be a "mechanical" report because if you knew what kind of a nutjob I am, you wouldn't read any more...O'the humanity ! I am still a work in progress....everytime I turn around I stub my toe. Nonetheless I shall persevere and hope for the best...I am running out of meds. So, if you have a sense of humor you can let that one rock on, because laughter most certainly is the best medicine. For the most part I am from planet Earth, and I don't know where the rest of me came from. Anyway for all outward appearences it is pretty hard to tell. Just think of me as Wiley E. Coyote getting blown up all the time on that rocket sled....Acme products division still hasn't got it right....but I keep trying.
I used to ride & build chopped Harleys & very fast cars, I like Rock and Roll and I like to read good history books and classic literature....go figure. That has to be some kind of an oxymoron.
I spent over 4yrs in college, 2 AA's, and have lots of other formal training in a variety of disciplines. The deep forest and everything that is in it is my friend....I lived there for years and I had to know how to do a lot of things... I can drive a 16 penny nail with 3 good slams, weld, run a business, build a house, install a drain field, millwright-fix-anything-made kinda guy. If I am working on something and can't get the part I need...I will make it. I am a handy fellow. I ran a homestead business...trout farm, boarded horses, owned a dozer & portable sawmill, fab shop, custom truck & car work, construction, and a lot more. I am also a journeyman printer, and worked doing that for many years. I went to real estate school sold my house and bought a chunk of forest in the middle of nowhere...end of the grid line. I punched a hole in the woods, built the homestead, built the business, and 23yrs later divorce put an end to it ....that was 9yrs ago for me, been solo ever since...now I am city.....I still dream about getting back to the forest. I am not a brain trust, but I try to do my best with what God has given me, and I am thankful for it. Electricity is also my friend,...and if you are my friend, and call me up in the middle of the night with a 911...I bolt no questions asked,...you can tell me what it is when I get there....also believe in paying it forward, it doesn't cost a dime and we get to keep the change. I am a straight up happy-go-lucky guy, I do no bad, but the last time I checked I found out that I am politically incorrect. The good news is that I care about other people's feelings....I am also totally non-judgemental and it is totally impossible to shock me. When I say I have an open mind, it is really an open mind....not just words. We all put on our pants one leg at a time. I learn things fast..I have a BB in martial arts and use the concentration techniques I learned as a learning tool. I go to the rec center, work out, ride a bike and stay fit. I listen to alternative radio, the BBC, PBS, NPR, and read form credible sources to stay informed, I don't pay much, if any, attention to mainstream media. I watch little TV on a regular basis, maybe a few good shows/dramas/comedies....the history channel or something like that.... I can crack myself up without TV if I have to....if you run with me you will find out all about it because I can keep you rollin'. The public library is another friend of mine. I learned how to do a lot of things by driving reference librarians nuts with requests for obscure information on how to do things. I also have a large personal library collection, all the classics, and all kinds of tech manuals. Did I say anything about being a nutjob yet ?? I enjoy life and I am up for all kinds of new things to do, places to go, and people to see. I like the beach, the snow, the desert, and I can disappear into the woods for a week and have fun..from theater to NASCAR I enjoy it all. I have had a Type 'A' personality all my life that has mellowed with experience. I would really like to find a girl that is bright, happy, enjoys life, and good conversation sprinkled with lots of laughter....to become my lover, confidant, and best friend. Someone I could trust, someone who would trust me, and share mutual respect for each other. A partner who could handle all the ups and downs with me that life brings. Someone who cares about how other people feel....a girl that is honest and caring.....a girl that understands that the past is the past, and that's why they call it history. A girl who would love me as I am, knowing that I love her as she is....someone that knows that I am faithful, trusts me, and knows that I am not a skirt chaser. Someone who would enjoy doing things together, hang out, cook, smile, laugh, cry, talk, love,..and be their own sparky free spirit with their own individual interests, needs, wants, and space.....desires...I know what true love is, and it is not a four letter word....it goes way beyond that. The picture I posted here certainly isn't my best because none of them really are..I plan to change it. You can't fix stupid, but I think I can fix this. Don't let the white shirt fool you :) I probably look better in Carharts. I am best up front, close, and personal. First impressions are always important so this pic is a roll of the dice until I can change it....I am too chicken to be rated ..buc-buc..I will put another picture up for that :)
First Date
I think a first date would be when you want to get to know each other and should be spent doing that...coffee? maybe a dinner? Both?...downtown for some jammin' music? ....da zoo? How about just hanging out and wandering around together somewhere, anywhere, that would be just fine with me....I am not that sophisticated :) ,....really hard to say without knowing the other persons' interests. I personally like doing all kinds of things. The Gerding Theater in the Pearl has good plays, and lots of pretty cool-hip restaurants. Willamette Week paper has all kinds of stuff in it, and you can find just about anything you want to do in there. All kinds of flicks in downtown Portland too.
I live in Hillsboro and know that area better. I have been out of circulation for a while,...9 years..not very bright, and I might need some help. There are comedy clubs downtown, but if they don't make ya laugh that would be a bummer. Pioneer Square would be a good place to meet for the first time, grab some coffee and pick something to do downtown. Concerts are good, but it might be tough to have a conversation if we were getting to know each other. Car Shows ? Rose Garden? ..a Blazer game ? an airplane ride over Portland?...done that and it is pretty cool. McDonalds is out, and I am sorry,.. that just isn't gonna happen...so I hope you weren't looking forward to anything like that.....and you can scratch all the doughnut shops off the list too. Come to think of it, we can also write off any of those places that serve beaks, feet, and stuff like that.
I still really think that I would need to know the other persons interests, then I could get innovative and come up with something that would make it more enjoyable for both of us.
