Hi, I'm a geek. I'm also a 6 ft tall latino, with black hair that gets curly when it grows too long (meaning it turns into an afro), and dark brown eyes. I make my living as a computer programmer. Things I like:

- Watching movies & TV: My current TV favorites are Fringe, 24, Heroes, House, Big Bang Theory, Bones, & Numb3rs. On the movies side there's Surrogates, the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The Matrix series, The Die Hard Quartet, The Terminator Quartet,and the greatest movie series of all time: the Back To The Future series!!

- Creative writing: Mostly, I write essays about random topics. Occasionally, I'll write a sci-fi or fantasy short story.

- Reading: The scope of my reading is in sci-fi & fantasy. Favorite authors include Stephen R. Donaldson (Thomas Covenant series), David & Leigh Eddings (The Belgariad), Simon R. Green (The DeathStalker Saga), Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game) and Jim Butcher (The Dresden Files).

- Listening to & performing music: Okay, I have a confession to make. I was in the Marching Band in High School. I played trombone. I can still play, but it's only on special occasions. But, that did give me an appreciation for Big Band Swing. I also like Techno, Pop, Dance, Acapella, Latin, Rap, Hip-Hop, DooWop, Eighties and SOME country.

- Having intense conversations on any topic: One time I had a conversation about who was the better character, Superman or Batman, that lasted for four hours and covered topics like absorption into the popular culture to the base philosophies each character represented. That was a great debate!

- Working with technology: Mostly, I'm into software, but I know enough about hardware to make me dangerous... :-)


"Geek" pretty much covers the bulk of my personality, but I am a romantic at heart. I'm a decent, reliable man with a darker soul that shows itself in my cynicism, sarcasm, and occasional stubbornness.

Awhile ago, I wrote down the things that I want to accomplish in my life. As of right now, I've gotten most of them down. Now I just need to slim down a bit (okay a lot!), and find someone special.

As for what I'm looking for in that special woman, that's simple. I'd like to meet someone smart, funny and cool that I can talk to for hours about anything. I like to think and really enjoy learning. I'd like to find a woman who also enjoys those things. Looks aren't really important to me (how I feel when she's around is MUCH more important), but if you must know, I prefer curves, long hair, and glasses!

For a first date, I'd tend to go for dinner and maybe a movie. I figure the first date should be a bit traditional so we can focus on each other, future dates can be more creative and unique!
