Are you willing to try anything once, no matter how foolish it seems at first? Are you as comfortable in jeans at a pool hall as in heels at a black tie affair? or at a pizza joint as at a Mario Batali restaurant? As willing to stay in and catch up with the DVR as to paint the town? If so, we should talk.

All that said, though, I think the best relationships are built on two people treating each other as, and expecting to be treated as, equal participants. We'll both be thinking about where we're going for dinner Friday and when we're taking our next vacation; we'll each be comfortable opening up to (and, when necessary, confronting) the other; and we'll cherish each other without putting each other on pedestals.
