I live fairly simply, with the one exception that I travel a lot. I have visited much of the US and have been to China, Scotland and Iceland and would love to travel more internationally. I enjoy driving cross-country and exploring new places, experiencing different cultures and enjoying the beautiful scenery. I find living out of a vehicle, taking one day at a time liberating - however I also enjoy having a home to come back to.

I like wild animals, being outside and learning new things which is why I love my work as a wildlife biologist. In the name of research, conservation or management I have gotten to do some pretty cool things and live in unique places (a.k.a. in a tent in the middle of nowhere).

I would describe myself as fairly eclectic with wide-spread interests. Besides biology, I also have a background in art, and at one time traveled with a band (sound tech). I appreciate language and culture and enjoy visiting museums.

At the same time I love being on the ocean, airboating in the glades, driving ATVs in the desert, hiking in the Appalachians, skiing in the Rockies, exploring caves (spelunking) and kayaking with manatees. My feet are most happy in hiking boots or sandals.

I am a pretty independent, self-reliant woman who fills her downtime with reading, writing, watching movies, doing artwork, listening to music, and is always psyched to go to concerts with friends.

I'm looking for a like-minded individual who is not caught up in the superficialities of life to hang out with and then we can take it from there. Ideally they would be a jack-of all-trades, easy-going person who likes to laugh and share their life stories. Must not be allergic to cats.

BTW, yes it is a recent picture, yes I look ridiculous - but that is me at work in the Glades! Um, apparently my main picture was deleted because my face couldn't be seen??? (I've uploaded it again.) There are other pictures there that are close ups, but I find a picture of me trudging through mud to be highly representative of who I am!

Preferably something outside - kayaking is always fun, but a simple walk can be just as nice. Opportunity for good conversation is essential. So is laughter.
