After 24 years of being a Mom I've just become an empty nester. Its come both not soon enough - and way too soon. I've been a single parent for 20 of the last 24 years and its been quite the journey.
Sometimes when I reflect I wonder how on earth I did it-you know all, all the trials and tribulations. Other times I think, ahh it wasn't that tough. Anywhichway I've raised three great kids and now I guess the ball's back in my court.(did I say that? lol)
You know what? More then anything else - I'm probably looking for some adventure. My life has been way too serious most of the time. I want to laugh, live more in the present...be spontaneous...and just have FUN. I love travelling and would like nothing more then to take a year off and travel.
Now what would fun look like? I'm rediscovering that. What it used to be before kids.........what it was while raising the children....what it means today - I'm definitely on a new journey.......AND I'll have to come back and finish this when I've had a chance to think it through more (I think way too much)......maybe I won't finish it...yet! :-)
Who am I? How others see me, how I see myself....and how I really am deep down inside may all be different......or who knows maybe they all really are the same.
I'm pretty confident and self-assured most of the time. Extremely independent (uh oh)and definitely have a mind of my own - I guess I am strong willed - but I've learned to temper that. I guess somethings really aren't that big a deal anymore.

I'm a good listener - but frankly I'd like to spend some time with someone who is ALSO a good listener.....and I like Silence too.......comfortable silence.......please don't talk my ear off....some things are better left uncovered /discovered slowly - and some not at all! ;-)
I am pretty multi-faceted - and many things interest me - and so many more things that I've yet to experience or try- sometimes I feel that mild panic - that I'll not get a chance to see and experience all the things I'd like to!
I like the city - although it seems I've lived most of my life in small towns . Ideally I'd like a condo somewhere downtown and and an ocean property somewhere else. I love the ocean, the salt, the sand, the breeze, the surf.....there's not that compares to that for me.....
There have been times in my life when I've been extremely active physically - but not of late - would like to start again.....do enjoy watching lots of sports but would like to get more involved in the myself.
What am I looking for in a match? Someone who is confident without being arrogant - comfortable in his own skin (yep I know sounds like a cliche)......smart and inquisitive....both child-like and mature.......adventureous - spontaneous - knows how to have fun - and laughs - a lot - and can make me laugh...:-) A teacher and a student.........and someone who never stops learning...Loves to travel.........enjoys road trips.......likes to socialize but also enjoys time alone.......

So lets see...
Travel - I love travelling, not the resort type but the backroads and byways, culture & history; photography & writing, I have my own blog where I share different aspects of my life; theatre, antiques.(the furniture kind ;-)....Lets see....hm I have so many...places I love, Australia.....Hawaii.....just about anywhere in Europe although France, Italy and Spain are favorites........would love to go explore all of great Britain - and I'm from Croatia - so always more to explore! And then there are so many more by roads and byways.....always up for the adventure!
Music - Love country music, the classics, some rock and pop..
Food? Well ethnic specialties intrigue me - I'll try just about anything different......and of course Sushi..Just watched Julie Julia - Butter!! :-)
What do I read ? Well just finished Augusten Burroughs 'Running with Scissors and just starting Wolf at the Table; love biographies, National Geographics, Guilty of reading the odd self-improvement/understanding book...;-)
Jobwise...Well I've been a Realtor for the past 20 years - both Brokering an office and selling - although would be open to a change - ideally - I'd love to be writing full time!
