I live a pretty simple life, working from home as both a medical transcriptionist and a tax preparer. Between work, church, and my grandchildren, I do keep pretty busy, but I would really like to find a good, smart, and honorable man to share the years to come. I'm not a rebellious kind of person, but I certainly don't mind marching to my own drummer, once I have investigated and researched an issue or a subject. For instance, I reject most of the conventional "wisdom" in regards to both diet and exercising and prefer to stick to what has kept people healthy throughout history (reading GOOD CALORIES/BAD CALORIES right now by Gary Taubes, and it is extremely eye opening)and to spend my workout time where I get the most bang for my buck, so to speak, using the Body By Science high intensity intermittent (weight) training. So I'm both very traditional and very open minded to the latest information regarding scientific fact and progress. I haven't used antibiotics in over 3 years now, because on the rare occasion when I do get sick, I find natural remedies such as fresh ginger root to be a much better choice. I take cod liver oil (in capsules) on a regular basis. When it comes to my Christian faith, I stick to the Bible rather than religious creeds and such. I am a person of deep faith with a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ, but religiosity turns me off. Finally, I am a person who really loves my family and friends and my fellow human beings, and many of them are of other races or nationalities. So I'm looking for a man who is able to see past skin color, as I do, and embrace the beautiful variety God has created in mankind.

For a first date, I would go to somewhere public and well lit. :) As to the place... that would just have to be dependent on the mix of our personal tastes at the time. Certainly, it would need to be an activity that allows for some introductory conversation and face-to-face acquaintance, such as a coffee shop (except I don't really like coffee). Something simple that can be expanded on if things click.
