Hi,
I am independent, reliable, kind, sincere, sarcastic/facetious, with a good deal of self-irony, fit and stable. I enjoy a company of my friends, and I cherish the relationships that I have. One thing that everybody can say about me - I never ever whine, and the glass is always half full for me.
I came to Canada from Eastern Europe (Ukraine) 6+ years ago but I remain attached to my family, their well-being is important to me.
I like going places, being active. It takes me 15 min to get ready for a road trip, and 20 min to prepare for an overseas voyage. I have done a few crazy things in my life (e.g., sky-diving, online dating). I love water-skiing.
I do follow politics. The book I am reading these days (after two years of course texts and reference literature) is "The shock doctrine" by Naomi Klein.
I enjoy most kinds of music: from Queen, Sting, Genesis, Rammstein, Billy Talent to highland pipes with Billy Joel and Barry Manilow hanging somewhere in between. In my car I usually prefer CBC Radio One to a music channel.
The last two DVDs I watched were "Taken" and "Up" - I liked them both. However, my movie selection is definitely not limited to the big Hollywood titles.
I study French because I like languages and for my career. I am fluent in Ukrainian (obviously) and Russian.
I have proven to myself and others that I can bear double the normal load as long as I am not being taken advantage of.

I would find it problematic getting along well with a partner who is:
- lazy physically/mentally (one's downtime shouldn't be 24/7; having goals and trying for them is essential),
- insincere (does not require explanation, I hope),
- listing "high school" in the smarts section; if you are going to look for Ukraine in South America that's a problem for me, too; trust me, I know what hard physical labour is but I value the challenge and effect of post-secondary education (did seven years myself),
- an avid believer. I am tolerant but to a certain point. We do come from apes, even though apes might be rather offended if compared to some of us. Don't get me wrong here - I do have friends of various beliefs, enjoy giving Christmas presents, etc.,
- chronically late.

Certainly, if you don't want children we're not meant for each other either.

I am alright if you're separated/divorced. After all I am myself, and consider it although sad but learning experience - at least now I know better what to look for and what to expect. In my humble opinion having one partner for a few years and trying to make things work is nothing to be ashamed of.
