New year, new profile.

Let's see. For starters, I'm a 28 year old single father. I'm about a year removed from a divorce; I got married for the wrong reasons...I guess it's cliche for a reason, right:p? My ex and I share custody, we get along pretty well and work well as parents together.

I'm in the process of rebuilding at the moment. I'll be finishing up a degree in database administration this year. I've also changed careers from sales to tech in order to be closer to my son rather than on the road all the time.

I'm absurdly laid back about everything else other than my son, and I really, really enjoy doing things I've never done before. Other than the standard going out with friends for a beer and football game; I read, play guitar(not well), box and just about anything else I can do (except sleep!)

Personally, if you asked ten of my friends about me, I guess the two answers you'd get are smart ass and honest. I also place a lot of stock in friendship and loyalty...I keep a small circle of friends but I've known most of them for six years or more. I believe in treating others in how you want to be treated....it's how my parents raised me and it's how I raise my son.

After a year of dating, I think I can pretty confidently say I know exactly the type of person I match up well with. I'm a sucker for smart, sarcastic, active women with a black sense of humor that don't take themselves too seriously. If you've ever been yelled at for a lack of tact, you are the person for me. I LOVE people who just say whats on their minds with no frills. I'm also looking for a woman who understands that my past isn't baggage....I love my son, and I wouldn't trade my past(mistakes and all) for any amount of money.

Also, I'm only looking for single people looking for a serious relationship. I really don't want to sound negative, but I've met a couple of people who say one thing and mean another and I just don't want to waste anyone's time.

Usually I'm all about a food first date....I'm a fan of trying out new places when meeting someone new as well. Barring that, maybe a museum....anything that gives my date and I a chance to explore something new. It gives tons to talk about and even if we aren't compatible, its a nice story to tell.
