About Me
Hi there!
Come on in, take your shoes off and make yourself at home :)
So, here’s a bit about me:
I’m a nice guy. I would often go out of my way to avoid hurting other people and always try to treat others the way I would want to be treated. I am confident when I know what I’m doing, but if I’m unsure of something I’ll admit it instead of trying to fake it. I also don’t see a problem with admitting that I’m wrong sometimes. I have a sarcastic sense of humor, but I have a sensitive side too. I’m an outgoing and social person, but I’m not a party animal. I enjoy talking to people and getting to know them. That’s probably why I don’t like clubs and loud parties – there’s no chance to actually talk to anyone. Of course, grinding and loud music are fine, but an interesting conversation is always better. Since I’m a student, I don’t have a whole lot of money to spend, but I’ve never been a stingy type: I would never hesitate to spend the last dollar in my wallet to buy my girlfriend an ice cream.
As far as hobbies go, photography is my favorite one, I just don’t have as much time for it as I would like.
Another one is computers and everything that has to do with them: building them from scratch, tweaking them, fixing them – nerdy stuff. Considering that I’m getting my degree in Computer Science, I actually may end up as one of those people who love their job!
And of course, music - can’t go anywhere without it. My tastes in music are very diverse. Seriously, every music genre would have at least a couple of songs that I like, even country. However, if someone would put a gun to my head (I wouldn’t do it otherwise) and told me to erase all the music from my iPod except for one kind, I would probably keep my trance tracks. ATB, Tiesto and Armin van Buuren are some of my favorite DJs.
I also love to travel and sometimes I end up in some sketchy places because of that. Docks in Oakland, potato field in Iowa, slums in Panama City – those are just few of them. Still, if I had a chance to go back and change something, I wouldn’t – adventures are priceless, especially the ones that end well.
Oh, and another thing – I wasn’t born in U.S. I moved here about 8 years ago from Russia, and yeah, I do have a bit of an accent. Don’t worry though, I don’t sound like Borat. To be honest, I’ve never dated an American girl before. All the girls I went out with were Russian, so this is a new experience for me and I’m excited to see how it works out.
Anyway, I’ll stop right here, before this page turns into a novel. Besides, learning things about each other through conversation is always more fun. ;)
So, if you’re nice, smart and cute, you should definitely write me a line or two...or more :) Tell me a bit about yourself. What annoys you the most? What makes your day?
First Date
I think that the first date should be all about getting to know each other, so a comfortable, low-key setting suits the best. Something like a coffee shop should do it. Yes, I know, it’s a cliché. In fact, I would prefer a walk in the city or going to the lake (wait, are those clichés too? Well, I don’t care - I still enjoy it!), but considering the weather outside, the comfy chair and a hot cup of coffee don’t seem like a bad idea. :) Besides, I believe that company matters more than a place.
