About Me
Hiya
I love going out to clubs but i'm not one for propping up the bar... I like to get my groove on! I learned how to jive last year and would like to learn salsa too.
I like going to the cinema, comedy and horror are probably the films I'd go and see first but I'll watch anything!
I like to read, mostly fiction but again I'll read most things that are put down in front of me. I have to admit to having read all the Harry Potter books at least twice!
I'm trained to instruct martial arts, namely Muay Thai boxing. I've studied it for over 12 years and it keeps me fit :).
I like to go for drives in the country when it's dark and the sky is clear. I love lying back and looking at the stars! I have to admit to being a bit of an amateur astronomer.... I'm no parker wearing geek though, honest!
I am currently looking to change my career path as I've become a bit disillusioned with the whole rat race mentality. Would love to work in caring or social work, preferably with kids as I have always had a great rapport with them (I previously worked as a kids entertainer and worked for the bbc for 6 years producing childrens tv).
I love animals, so my long term plan is to have a house out in the sticks, somewhere which would be great for walking my dog and eventually raising a family. I'd love to own a horse again one day.
I won't say I'm normal (what the hell is normal!?) but I'm not a nutter and not lookin for a one night stand. I always try to keep a positive outlook on life and think that laughter is the best medicine... wow that sounds sooo cheesy! People who know me well say I'm sensitive but I usually hide it under my comedic antics, I'll do anything to make people laugh.
I've got hugely wide-ranging tastes in music from house and dance stuff for boogying to to The Killers, The Doors, MGMT, Arcade Fire, Michael Jackson, Prince, James Brown, Spiritualized, Guns and Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Faith no More, Zutons, Muse..... the list goes on and on. It would be easier to list the stuff I don't like: thrashy death metal, gangsta rap (the modern stuff about poppin caps in peoples' asses) and I'm not keen on manufactured boy/girl bands with the possible exception of Take That (I've been brainwashed from years of subjected listening lol!).
I love going to gigs and festivals. The barrowlands has to be my favourite venue as it's so intimate. It's got a sprung dance floor too so it's great for bouncing about to the songs!
If you have read up to this point then congratulations, you've passed the initiation! But seriously, if you'd like to chat more then send me a message. I don't bite.... unless you ask nicely!
First Date
I think a good first date would be a salsa lesson at the local dance studio! The lessons are on a friday evening and afterward there is a pre club - freestyle disco kinda thing so we could try out our newly learned moves! You can see I've thought a bit about this haha! Oh, there's a bar too!
If that sounds more like a second or third date activity, maybe drinks and a comedy club would be good to break the ice.
