About Me
I am an independent guy. I live in a small cabin that I built on the Peninsula on property that my friends own. I am a biologist by trade, but do whatever pays the bills, which are currently mounting an offensive. I am also a very creative person and am currently trying to figure out just exactly how I'm going to affect the world in the most positive way. I feel that if you're not making a conscious and concerted effort to make the world better and spread joy and love, than you aren't fulfilling your obligation as a person. I like to sew, clothes, upholstery, bags, whatever. I like to build, cabins, greenhouses, chicken coops, whatever. I like to be occupied, and my days are often hectic, scattered and productive.

I drink here and there, and I smoke a little bit of weed. I don't buy it, and I don't smoke daily. I've had some medical issues in the past which have made being at my optimum health difficult. I eat almost all organic, and don't eat a whole lot of meat. I got
chickens in April, and get lots of eggs. As a travelling biologist, it's been hard to have a garden, and this year has been
tough again, working on my bathroom, working full time, working odd jobs on the side, surfing, and rupturing my achilles have all taken their respective tolls on the garden, but I ate some kale, broccoli and tomatoes from it today.

I think that the word travelling is better spelled with two "L"s. Ideally, a year for me looks like, 4-5 months work in field biology, spring and mushroom harvesting, odd upholstery jobs, and sewing and selling clothes online to fill the gaps. I have 3
books in the works, and there is a distinct possibility that none will ever get finished, though, there is just as good a chance that I will receive a pullitzer for my second book. I don't care if the world ends in 2012. I kind of have some hedonistic and
nihilistic tendencies. The nihilism part helps me get over the fact that I am posting this on the web, but I have nothing to hide, and feel that the more we share the more we grow as an entity.

I'm a surfer, pretty much first and foremost. If you've ever dated a surfer, you might have an idea what I'm talking about, if not, I apologize in advance. I'm a birder, a gardener, a mushroom picker, an ambler. I care deeply for the earth, and its creatures.
Sometimes I feel much more at home away from people, and in the wild. Sometimes I get very angry at how we treat the earth and its inhabitants, but I'm really working on banishing negativity from my life. It rarely gets you anywhere good. I'm on a
path of spiritual growth, and have had some recent experiences that have reenforced the need for this in my life. I have not the discipline for yoga every morning, and love a partner in crime who can give me a little nudge in that direction. It's just never,
on the top of the priority "to do" list in the AM, but since rupturing my achilles in July, I think maybe my lesson is to slow down, and work on me more than my surroundings. I don't know. Really. I am whimsical, and often make impulse buys, or decisions to fly somewhere, or wear a wig all day, or a gold medallion and hip hop outfit when birding near hoity toity birdwatchers.

I'm not a big guy, but I'm very capable. I'm in shape, and have a surfer's body, and young eyes. I have a widow's peak, but have no fear of being bald. I knock on wood when I make statements like that. Sometimes it might take me a bit longer to get something done, but I'm probably taking measures so my back doesn't hurt quite as much. I don't like to ask for help, and am probably a bit too proud. It takes quite a bit for me to open up to someone passionately. I'm kind of an all or none guy. Unless it's REALLY casual, casual sex is difficult for me to enjoy, and so I've been steering away from those experiences lately. I'm a huge fan of wild roses, owls, fish, and waves. I'm looking for something that might start out slow, or a blaze that burns through the house and destroys everything in its path. Mostly I'm looking for something real.

First Date
First dates are always good to show off places the other person might not know about, or experiences that are new. Wine is pretty much a must. I'm not really a hippie, but definitely into nature, so being outside is always good, unless it's freezing, but that makes warming up that much better. Maybe a heavy metal show, where you couldn't really talk to the other person, just see how they react to the stimuli, mega metal rorshack test. ****, I don't know, take mushrooms and go yard saling??
