What would you like to know? You can always ask for more details, but let me start to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a businessman but I am able now to take things a little easier and make some extra free time. In my life I have always enjoyed travel and have visited many places in various countries. I am however not a person to go on guided tours or anything like it and would not enjoy travelling in large groups or hang out with them. I like to see the local environment and meet the local people. “Off the beaten path” would be my goal.
I have not visited the orient or the Far East and would like to start with Thailand, maybe later the neighbouring countries and China. Why start with Thailand? There has always been a particular interest in that country and culture with me. I have seen so many pictures and read so much about the culture, the people, the temples and the beautiful countryside and nature. Thailand is also supposed to be the land of smiles and yes, I would not be a full-blooded male if I did not say it, the ladies are very friendly and beautiful. At least that is what people say.
I am single, never been married, no kids. Not that I am against it, but it just never happened. This does not mean that it still could not happen anymore. One thing is for sure however, if it were to happen, there would have to be a pretty good friendship preceding it. I do not care about race or religion, as long as the person is okay. While I grew up as a Christian, I have read and learned a lot about Buddhism and like it and want to investigate it in much more detail and experience it, which makes another reason for travel in Thailand. Since this site does not provide for Christian/Buddhist I just picked Buddhist since right now I am leaning more in that direction. I am working on it and hope this will not offend anybody.
I like animals, kids and genuine people. I enjoy nature, swimming, boating, cooking, dining in or out, good friends and good times. I am not a sports fanatic, drink very little alcohol, have never smoked or done drugs, watch TV sparingly but enjoy a good movie or live theatre. I can debate or discuss many, many subjects and like long conversations. I read anything from books to magazines etc in my spare time. I love photography and am good at it.
As far as it goes, I consider myself to be in reasonably good shape and do not shy away from many activities and I do keep up with my younger friends. I have blue eyes and blondish-brownish hair. I can be tough when necessary but generally am gentle and caring. I like to help people if it is within my ability and passes my criteria. I am romantic and like to cuddle with the right person.
Why am I here on this site? Of course I am still looking for a life companion but much simpler I am looking for a travel companion to see and experience Thailand. I am planning to make my first trip there early in 2010. I would love to meet a lady from Thailand who has the time and the inclination to travel with me and show me some of Thailand’s sites. She should know at least some English and know how to get around. She should be genuine and pleasant, funny and be a good companion. I encourage you, let me hear from you. I do not want to see the entire country on my first trip. I am totally capable to lie on the beach for a few days but I would also like to go on an elephant ride excursion and see some interesting sites and temples and take in the local activities.
Of course everybody in the West has heard about the sex-trips to Thailand. If I was looking for that, I could book such a trip, I would not look on this site. I am not against intimate relationships, but I never make it a condition for anything. Good friendships are more important to me and only from there can we develop anything else.

Funny! If you are in Thailand then I guess we would meet at the airport and have a coffee or cold drink and talk to each other for the first time in person and then take it from there. A fun-filled holiday awaits us!
If you are in Canada, then we better figure something out before we fly to Thailand together.
