I'm fairly recent to the French Creek (Parksville/Qualicum Beach) area. I'm searching for a 30 something fit woman who is interested in a modern man with old fashioned idealisms. I know, i know... who wants to date a 49 year old teacher, right? I suspect right now you're thinking... *yawn* BUT... you'll find that i have very diverse interests including everything from wine collecting to snowboarding. Although the thinggy says long term, primarily that's what i'm hoping to find but i'm up for just hangin out too, like getting a coffee or whatever. I really am alone here. I'm a calm person but very active and athletic. Sports do not interest me at all but i enjoy keeping fit. I'm a retired soldier turned high school teacher. The military instilled in me respect, loyalty, empathy and so much more. I teach part time in the area (shop... automotive, metal fabrication, woodwork etc), so i'm good with my hands. I'm also doing a renovation on my house as we speak. Along with all that, i go to VIU studying psychology. I'm definately not your typical teacher/psychology student. I really enjoy working with kids and have volunteered at school when not called in to teach. I have an awesome sense of humor. I own my own home (not the bank) here, and love the area.

One of my life's philosophies is to know your strengths and weaknesses and try to improve both. I try to. Being alone i have very few pics and due to the fact i know next to no one, getting new ones is a chore. It's embarrasing to ask a new neighbour to take your pic. But with that in mind, my pic is from this past summer and well, to let you know, i'm pretty much going to ask you for a pic before meeting. Fair is fair, ya?

There are a lot of things that are important to me. Family, definately (but they're all back in Ont), and being new here, i have very few friends, only a couple of colleagues, who i respect a lot. What is fairly important about you is that you're able to carry on a convo, you're able to keep up with me and you're down to earth. So... if you're a fit 30 something woman who's looking for a GOOD man as well as a nice man, some fun and romance... living in Nanaimo to Qualicum Beach, do say hello.

From you, what i ask for at this time of life, is that you be single (not... separated, in a relationship, bad or otherwise... etc), non-smoking, preferably no kids, social drinker, no drugs, reasonably local, able to drive, and fit, of course. Too much to ask for? Hope not. You're probably looking for the same.
