About Me
Hi, thanks for dropping by. I have two sons, one fifteen and still at home, another in university, and now I'm beginning to feel a bit lonely. I'm looking for a man who would, no matter what, put friendship and trust first; likes animals and the countryside; can talk with me about interesting things. He would be open with me, including letting me know when not to ask whatever it is. My often outrageous and satirical sense of humour will make him laugh, not offend him, and I don't mind if his sense of humour is equally sharp.
Things I like:
Sitting still looking at landscapes and cityscapes. Running like the wind in my dreams. Paris. Writing stories and poetry, and leaving them in the electronic equivalent of a sock drawer. The French Quarter in New Orleans. Watching my different species of animals play with each other - interspecies interactions. Riding and training my horses. Planet Earth (both the dvd and the thing itself). Getting lost in looking at something. Having time to draw. Eating with friends, listening to them tell stories. Knowing they're happy. When my sons listen to me sing. Being with a mare when she gives birth, and watching the foal become totally amazed by sight and feeling and sound. Locking eyes with a wild animal. Laughing till I cry. Listening to the CBC. Snorkeling and playing with the fish. Seeing my children become men - absolutely unimaginable beforehand.
In the profile, I'm listed as drinking "a lot" - 3+ per week - because I like wine with dinner, not because I knock back a glass of Scotch every night to help me forget anything. (I mostly try to remember everything, not forget.)
I've been without any partner since 1998, and haven't been on a date for decades, so I want to find a man willing to be in a laid-back friendship which may grow into love - or not. I'm not in a hurry.
First Date
I think a good long walk in the city or country is a good place to talk - our first meeting would not be a date, but a meeting during which we'd think about a date next. I`d love to go to an art installation or gallery, rollerblading, or a home show, since I`m rebuilding mine from the inside out.
Or go and have tea somewhere (tea for me, anyway), or a glass of wine. Something else you like is fine; I enjoy trying things and going places I haven't been.
