Thanks for clicking on my picture. I am an educated, charming, fit man that constantly seeks to improve myself. I play sand volleyball three times a week, keep up with the latest happenings in the world (global warming, not Beyonce) and try to develop more of a spiritual nature that is consistent with my scientific and intuitive understanding of the world. Wish me luck on that.

My view of relationships and gender roles is modern, but I still feel obliged to open doors and pick up the tab when on a date. I have lived on my own for quite a while and don't really have a concept of a woman cooking, cleaning and managing my life for me. I would rather our time together be spent doing fun things, going on little adventures or just spend some alone time enjoying one another's company.

Ideologues on either side of the political or religious spectrum annoy me and I keep an open mind about almost everything. Life is not black and white, but there are certain values like honesty, integrity and tenacity that I feel are essential. No one is perfect and I certainly have miles to go before I sleep, but you get an A for effort in my book.

Dogs are great, cats are tolerable and Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock and roll band ever. The Tampa area has a terrific local art community, hockey is a great sport to watch live and I will pick sensuality over sexuality any day of the week. I am an equally bad dancer as I am a swimmer, but I am willing to be publicly humiliated or drown if a fun opportunity comes along.

PS I started smoking a few months ago and will be quitting shortly after Thanksgiving. Bring chocolate.

I think that taking time to get to know each other a little before going out on a date is a good idea. At least a phone call to see if we are on the same wavelength.
Everyone has issues, but if you post an accurate picture and just be yourself, there is really no reason for a first date to be an unpleasant experience.
