Personality wise I am something of an eclectic and an enigma. You will find me filled with internal contradictions and it would be difficult to categorize me as one type of person or another. I am an executive for a major corporation and a business leader in my community. I hold masters degrees in engineering and business. While I am a businessman, I am also an intellectual that enjoys the arts, theater, and symphony. I have a very sunny disposition and always have a warm smile on my face. I delight in telling jokes, amusing stores, and making humorous observations about any situation in which I find myself. I very much enjoy being teased, as I consider it to be one of the sincerest forms of endearment.

I have traveled extensively around the globe for business and pleasure. While international travel is not always practical, travel in the US is always welcome and I like to do a lot of it. I think nothing of saying on Thursday morning, "Let's go to Monterey" and being on a plane that afternoon for a fabulous weekend of exploring tidal pools, dinning and shopping. Weekend road trips are great too; particularly those that start without either a suitcase or a destination.

Some my interests include blackjack, thoroughbred racing, large format landscape photography, and astrophotography. After completing my MBA at Michigan, I made a career change to a professional blackjack player. Blackjack was a wonderful life style with all the complimentary food and entertainment. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and after three years in the green felt jungle I had to return to my business management career. I go to Vegas and Reno once a quarter to play blackjack. The casinos again let me play because I am no longer a constant presence and I maintain a lower profile.

Thoroughbred horse racing is something that I also enjoy. Back during my graduate school days at Michigan I became interested in applying the Efficient Market Hypothesis to parimutuel wagering. The system really works, but requires patience as all races are not good ones to bet. At a track like Lone Star Park, one can expect to bet 3 – 4 races per card with an 18% advantage.

Photography has been a long standing interest of mine. My landscape work is done with a 4" x 5" view camera. A view camera is type of camera where one focuses on the ground glass with a dark cloth over your head. I develop the individual films, digitize them, enhance them with Photoshop and then print. Astrophotography is done through a telescope with a digital camera that is optimized for long duration exposures. My work has been published and is displayed on a personal website.

My sport of choice is golf. I try to play at least once to twice per week. Getting out on the links means everything to me as it is chance to escape from the realities of the day as I pit myself against the course. I am a bogie golfer, frequently playing in the high 80s to low 90s.

I am always a gentleman. I very much enjoy treating a woman like women are treated in a movie that one might find on TCM. It is great fun to watch a woman's eyes light up when I open a door for her, help with her coat, and help seat her at a table.
