My approach to life is fairly straight forward…I work to live....I don't live to work...Everyday I try my best to follow the golden rule, "treat others as you'd like them to treat you"...most days it works...it just depends on the "others" I encounter :-) I’ve learned that living your life without passion is just cheating yourself out of realizing all the riches, adventure and joy life has to offer. So if you're going to do something, give it all you got. If there's something you've wanted to do but haven't, go do it...To maintain my sanity in an insane world I try to find the humor in everything, including myself (which is occurring with increasing regularity as I get older)...and I can be a bit goofy at times. I enjoy being around others who make a point of going through life with a smile on their face, not a chip on their shoulder. Pursuing physically challenging activities like bicycling, running, fitness training and pursuing outdoor winter and summer sports keeps me fit. To satisfy my sense of adventure I enjoy traveling, exploring new destinations and hiking (have you ever hiked the Grand Canyon?..its awesome) but am also open to new pursuits. Despite all the active things I enjoy doing, I also enjoy just sitting on the beach and watching the waves chase each other, although I tend to get bored with that after a while and find the urge to get up and take a walk or a jog to see what’s around the next bend an impossible temptation to ignore…Now, here's something you likely won't see in many other guy profiles...I know my way around the kitchen (beyond finding the fridge to grab a beer) and while I will never be mistaken for a gourmet chef, cooking is something I really enjoy. So why am I on this site you might ask? Well I believe that we all come into this world as individuals and we must live our lives true to ourselves, however I also believe that we were meant to share our lives with someone. Sharing my life with one special person who is also my best friend and shares my passion for physical activity, traveling, life and love would make all of life's ups and downs, joys and accomplishments much more meaningful, tolerable and enjoyable. First of all I don't consider meeting in a coffee shop or public library to see if we're compatible a first date. So, assuming we've made it through the obligatory cup of coffee (for you); Iced tea for me or rumaging through the complete works of Hemingway; I would chose to spend our first date doing something fun and engaging. Perhaps a concert or sharing time exploring nature on our bikes or taking a brisk walk through one of the Metro Parks. Basically spending time doing something together that we both enjoy.
