Today is one of those in-between days where I really wish I had someone who would like to just take off for a drive for an hour or two. No plans, no demands, just taking life one day at a time.

I haven't had alot of luck with online dating though I won't stop trying. Everyone is interesting. Everyone has desires, talents and personality. Sometimes I think if we all can get past "looking" for Mr. & Miss Right, we might find out there are some pretty interesting folks out there.

***UPDATE****It has been brought to my attention that perhaps I should clarify exactly where I live. Google puts Middleburg approximately 50 miles from the heart of Raleigh to my doorstep. For me, I can get to Capital Blvd (driving at a sanely speed) in about 40-45 minutes. Raleigh/Durham are my closest largest citys and places I drive to quite often. I love the country life but I need the city life as well.......I realize distance is a factor for some and perhaps this clears that up as I only wish to be honest and upfront.

We all want love. We all have this idea of our ideal person. For me, I find the unexpected in alot and really can't find specifics that I need or want but more of what I would like. I am sure you are out there searching for those, maybe I'll have a few, maybe not.

I am a very educated woman, but I have alot of common sense as well. My interests are in artistic realms. I have been drawing and painting since I was 6 with no formal training. I have several digital and online websites that showcase my work. I haven't won any major awards, but I can hold my own I like to think. Right now, I free lance web design and paint and draw on the side for pleasure and relaxation. I was blessed to have a father who taught me all about the outdoors and the fun there is in its activities. Then there was my mother who gave me the interest in the finer things a city could offer such as museums, culture, the performing arts, fine dining, keeping a home and how to enjoy raising children. Oh, there's more to me then all of this. Just ask if you may. I'll answer.

I'm in my early 50's so goals and aspirations don't come as often as they once did when I was younger. I still love to try things that interest me and not hesisitant to try the things that aren't, but they have to be at least legal and safe! Still, I aspire to grow old gracefully and hopefully not alone.

What makes me unique...not much I suppose. I am not shy about keeping a conversation going; know the importance of timing and sharing. If you are looking for a real woman, I mean the kind that knows her place, is forthright and honest, dignified and respects your interests and knows the value of faithfullness, devotion and adoration you might find me of interest. I know how to make you smile and I can warm a heart with real heart felt ways of expressing it like sending handwritten letters, calling to see how your day has been, fixing a candle lit dinner out of the blue of all your favorites (just because) and even dressing up or down to impress you. For me, there's nothing more sexy then seeing a slow smile grow across a man's face when he is surprised by the things I truly want to do for him to show how much he means to me.

I'm looking for a settled man, easy going, strong in mind and maybe the gentle giant type. You can be strong minded, strong of heart and strong willed, either way a strong person always inhabits these types of character traits. I am use to having doors opened for me and the allowance of me slipping my arm into yours, but its the man that remembers these acts of respect and kindness ALL the time that will get my heart. I hope you like to stay active and healthy. I am also looking for someone who is sincere and can communicate well. Someone who isn't into trying to do EVERYTHING activity wise in the span of one day. Are you comfortable being in my world as much as I am being in yours? That involves being interested in each others talents, hobbies, collections etc.

I am a cold weather lover and while the water is nice at the beach, I prefer it more at night when things cool off. I am not a needy person but I do want to know I am loved and I will express my feelings openly and often.
I enjoy live music. All types of music actually but there is just something about seeing AND hearing it live that gets to me.

So there you go. I am not the drama queen type or materialistic type. Many people say I seem serious and quiet. Those are the ones who need to get to know me better. My friends tell me I am the one they go to for advise and they know I can keep a secret. I shun gossip and mindless women and men who thrive on otherwise stupid stuff that won't impact me or my world and shouldn't theirs. Many friends tell me I am a surprise to them. LOL! whatever that means, but they are smiling and happy when they say it, so it must be good!

So there you go.

I am human. I am a woman. I can walk and talk and chew gum at the same time.

A first date can be as simple as coffee/tea at a nice coffee shop tucked away in a small area or a planned sit-down lunch or dinner. Either way, just somewhere to be able to spend time talking and getting to know each other.
I have even gone on walks in parks (public ones), sat on the trunk of my car and just spent time talking together.
I don't mind emailing for awhile either.

When was the last time you looked across a table and really felt the excitement in someone else's eyes that was there just to meet you?
