About Me
I prefer to vacation in the mountains over the beach.
I enjoy almost all music like the classics from Aaron Copland, Beatles, and Beethoven to ZZ-Top with Van Wilks, Vivaldi, Ted Nugent, Gregorian Chants, and even Whale songs in between. Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of APC, Tool, Filter, NiN, Stone Temple Pilots and Radio Head. OK, perhaps I could do with out RAP, and, unfortunately, my oldest son LOVES RAP, this is Gods sense of humor (I loved Led Zeplin when I was his age and blasted it so loud I'm sure my poor parents could never hear the Lawrence Welk they were listening too :-)
I'm a full time dad and chauffeur for my two kids (15 and 16). My oldest (20) goes to college in town (just got accepted into UT!). Even though life is full I can make time for myself and get out to let my hair down (metaphorically of course :-) at least twice a week, sometimes more (then there's always lunch as well). And, of course, for someone special, I will make time for that person.
I enjoy tending to my yard and plants around my property. Enjoy watching wildlife around the house, e.g., indigo and painted buntings in the summer.
I’m an artist at heart, but not by trade, that’s actually how I got into engineering (it’s a long story…). I guess I’m a bit of a nerd, but I don’t look like one.
I shave my head, well, because it’s low maintenance, and, because it pretty much looks the same if I tried to grow hair :-)
I was married 22 years to my college sweet, she was an awesome mother and wonderful partner over that period. Her mental health problems drove her away from us.
My two youngest are GT/AP and "A" students (my daughter was in top 5% of her freshman class, and my son scored 98% on PSAT's) so I'm blessed to have such smart hard working kids. I'll take just a little credit for this, but only a little :-)
I love to travel and I’ve been all over the US. I’ve also spent a couple of weeks in India which was definitely a great experience.
I "had" a motorcycle (Harley) for over a decade, would love to get another bike one of these days, but this time a Ducati. For now I feed my need for speed :-) in my 330i, which I love going for a drive in out to the hill country for a good hike or what ever, e.g., Fredericksburg.
Last couple of years I've been able to work out of my home office for a California based high tech company, this has been another blessing helping me balance my time being a dad.
Life is awesome, I've had quite a few downs, but they help make the ups seem oh so much better :-).

Oh, and hey, what's with the question "Do you have a car?" I find that "funny", what if I only had a truck, or a motorcycle, or a hearse (now that's funny :-) or I lived downtown and used mass transit, or... "Do you have a car?" that's strange (OK, I know they meant - or did they - do you have a vehicle :)

Ouch :-(, wow, this site can be a real blow to ones ego, I just noticed that my picture is, on average, rated a 2 out of 10, well, I knew I wasn't movie star quality, and I really do not take good pictures, i.e., I'm not photogenic, but I thought I at least would merit a 5 out of 10. And what's up with guys giving me a higher score then you gals. Does that mean I'm more attractive to gays then women, OH my gosh, now my ego is really taking a beating :-).
Oh well, if things continue the way they are I will either have to try mail order Russian wives dot com, or maybe I should just move to San Fransisco and change my lifestyle :-)
OK, OK, I'm kidding (about moving :-), geeze :-)
P.S. My little smiley faces are indications of tong in cheek comments, attempts at humor, etc. But, you know what they say, theirs a little truth in all of what we kid about (they do say that, don't they?).

OK, yea, I know this isn't facebook or twitter or ... But, just thought I'd share some thoughts today. OK, one, I just checked my picture "ratings" again. Thank you SO much for all the wonderful gals who pushed my score up to 4.5 out of 10, you are all wonderful!
But, alas, guys scoring is now almost 7 out of 10 :-(. I'm choosing to think of it as other macho guys seeing my picture and saying "yea, he's got that rugged masculine look, like a good buddy you'd go hunting with" and scoring me that way!
OK, continuing on a humorous note, this is probably NO news to most of you out there, but remember, I worked full time (workaholic :-( and my ex wife stayed home. So, beside mowing the yard, taking trash out, vacuuming around the house and some light cleaning, and of course cooking on the grill (only the grill) and house repairs. Well, I didn't to laundry or cook. So, being thrust into full time parenthood as I was, those two skills were totally foreign too me. Here's a couple of tips for you!
Don't ever wash your white underwear along with RED stuff, unless you like pink frilly things! I had to go, well, without underwear for a few days until I got new ones! Damn if I was going to have an accident and be caught dead in "pink underwear"!
If you have your favorite black shirt on, the one you treasure and wear over and over, it's guaranteed something will happen to require the use of bleach (e.g., you forgot about the red socks mixed in with your white underwear) and inevitably, that bleach will splash up on your favorite black shirt :-(
Cooking, well, besides steaks, hot dogs, and hamburgers, I didn't cook. Now I do (just how well, is, well, I hope you would be interested in finding out :-). Any way, I knew I was going to need all the help I could get with cooking. So, the first thing I did was purchase a set of those very expensive solid copper French cooking pots and pans. You know, the ones you have to take a second mortgage out to afford. I figured those things aught to really help me out. Well, I quickly learned that they did squat to improve my cooking. But damn does my kitchen look nice when those babies are out on the counter.
OK, those are my tips for today for any newbies out there :-)
