I'm tired of being single. But aren't we all? Isn't that why we're here? As the weather grows colder, I find myself more and more wanting to change that status, but I'm not jumping into anything just because. There has to be a connection.

If you're looking for a profile that reads like a resume or a travelogue, you won't find it here. A person is so much more than the sum of what they do for a living or where they've been. Besides, why lay everything out up front? How boring is that, if before you even speak a word to someone, you have a pretty good idea what some of their best stories are probably about? Go with the flow, and all that will come out as you talk and get to know someone, rather than a forced interrogation from the beginning.

I've been described as very mellow and easygoing. I'm funny, and love to laugh and make others laugh. You could call my humor dry, perhaps, or even sarcastic, but not in the mean way. Being mean isn't funny. I'll admit it up front, I'm not a badboy. If that's your thing, please move along. Nor am I a cheater or abuser. I try to live by the Golden Rule. I'm not a fighter. Every relationship has issues and disagreements at times, but I believe that those issues can usually be resolved by calmly discussing them if both parties truly care. Yelling, screaming, and drama don't fix things, they make them worse.

At this point in my life, ideally I'd like to find a serious long term connection. I realize that might not happen right off, of course, but a long term relationship is my eventual goal.

I've always had a bit of a "take the road less traveled" streak in me. It's led to a colorful life, even if now a bit further down that road I wish I would have done some things differently. This is where my road has brought me. Now to look around and see who might be worth walking with on the road ahead.

I love the outdoors, although I'm not exactly what you'd call an outdoorsman. I love music, particularly classic rock. Rush, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Savatage, Van Halen, that sort of stuff.

I'm a reader,I almost always have a book somewhere at hand for those idle moments.

I've always sucked at this! Perhaps I'm a traditionalist (or maybe I'm just unimaginative?) but I think a good first date is meeting for dinner or for coffee. Someplace where we can talk and get to know one another, not just sit and be passively entertained. One doesn't get to know someone very well without communication, right?

Of course, if you have some sort of amazing first-date idea, I'm always open to suggestions! The way I've usually done things doesn't make them the only way, and I'm always open for a better idea.
