About Me
What do you say when someone asks "who are you?" or "tell me about yourself?" Do you say where you work? What your hobbies are? Do you share basic family information? Or where you go or went to school? I'm never sure what to say to those questions. Because my job, hobbies and school are what I do, not who I am. Just like my friends and family are who I love, but also not who I am. None of those questions will never adequately explain my desire to go to Africa or adopt a child. Or that I want to write a book, and record an album. Those questions won't ever show that I want to go climb mount fuji with my mother, and then with my own daughter some day. Or that I've left parts of my heart in Spoleto, Italy and at the Mountain House in Caux, Switzerland.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is if you're looking for the basics of me in this tiny little box... I don't fit. And I like that.
I am an international politics student, hoping to transfer to USF or a school in London within the next year or so. I am a classically trained opera singer (16 years of training and counting!) and have been known to play around in jazz and contemporary music as well (probably only for the last 7 years or so). I love the gym (although I occasionally have issues motivating myself to get there). I would do anything for my family, and to me (as an only child) friends become family. I work too hard, I have an irrational hatred of divided sinks, and the last thing I ever am is boring. I am a 3rd-5th grade volunteer girls running coach twice a week, and I absolutely love it. I believe all human beings should be treated with respect and dignity, no matter what. And there is not one place on this earth that I don't want to go and explore. I love being spontaneous and just following where life takes me, but I definitely appreciate a bit of planning (not exactly comfortable without knowing where I'm sleeping). I try to do one random act of kindness every single day, because of the joy it brings me, knowing I've made someone's day better. I would love to hear from anyone who thinks they have something to say, so message me! I've been told I'm the impossible catch, and I don't like standing still, but if you can get me to do it, I promise you it's worth it. So catch me if you can ;)
First Date
Something fun, or interesting or creative, like salsa or swing dancing, a live comedy show, a beer and a few rounds of pool, a hike, or even something as simple as some good food and laughter.
Fair warning; I'm really awful at email and much prefer to actually sit down and respond to an email, rather than whip out some standard response. Unfortunately, my schedule doesn't always allow me enough time to do that, so don't feel neglected if I haven't responded. I'm trying!
