My goal is to be the best I can be since I do not like waste in any form and unfufilled potential is among the worst. We only live once, this is not a dress rehearsal so doing the right thing and being the best I can is important to me.
This past summer I volunteered at 6 different outdoor music festivals enabling me to sleep in my tent. I love the outdoors, listened to great music (acoustic roots & bluegreass are my favorites)and eat healthy, vegetarian meals all for the cost of transport & 4 hours work helping produce events that I really like.
My friend/boss who has known me since I was 3 once said to me "You know the theory that on the other side of the world there's someone exactly like you - in your case, forget about it Jay - there's no one like you."
That's a high compliment to me and I once received a card from Julia "Butterfly" Hill the California Redwood tree sitter who wtote, "Hi Jay, It's your friend the treehugger again". I replied "Julia, if you're the treehugger I'm the truthhugger since you don't know me but I promise you everything I say to you is true". It's a name & practice I live up to everyday.

Friends first always since meeting of the minds and meeting of the hearts must precede any potential meeting of the bodies for me. If it's right, it will take care of itself. Believing the actual activity is secondary to the participants, I'm not too particular about the event as long as we can conclude with some insight into the values, goals and present circumstances of each other. A trip to a coffee house with a mellow guitarist providing pleasant background tunes is my suggestion. Arrive hungry though since if we're having a good time, it's pizza on me to extend our first date.
