About Me
Hi, I'm an IT professional working at a startup med device company in Silicon Valley. I am hoping to meet a bright, thoughtful person for good conversation and hopefully more. Here's a little about me.
I love good food (the spicier the better) and enjoy cuisines from all around the globe. Sushi, Thai, Pho, Chinese, all delicious. I read and watch a lot of science fiction, including Heroes, Firefly, Dune, and many others.
I love to ski and usually make it up to Tahoe a few times a year. Getting a cabin for the weekend is the best! I am also well trained in the martial arts but rarely have cause (or tolerance) for violence. Also I have a lot of family in Idaho and journey out there two or three times a year.
Some other things I enjoy are brewing beer at home, hot tubbing down by the river, playing pool, strumming the guitar (though I have a lot to learn still!) and generally going against the norm. I'm 420 friendly. I love punk rock but enjoy lots of different styles of music; I make sure to go to a few shows a year at least. My favorite bands include NOFX, The Pogues, Green Day, Sublime, Flogging Molly, Violent Femmes, The Vandals, and lots more.
First Date
Hmmm... First date, huh? Here's my first thought:
I'd pick you up at 8:00 and head to Jack London Square for a fine dinner at Scott's Bar and Grill. We could talk and get to know each other. Maybe have a drink to help break the ice. After dinner we'd walk along the water and under the stars, listening to the waves coming in. If we feel a connection, a kiss in the moonlight just might take your breath away (and mine).
But that may be a bit stiff for first getting to know someone. So here's another idea. Let's go for something a little less formal and a little more active. How about going to see a band together? The Bay Area is full of small clubs offering live music and tasty beverages. We'd sit outside where we could still converse, and see what we have in common. An outdoor concert would also be fun.
Too tame? Need more adventure? This one is a bit over the top, but here it goes anyway. There's an indoor skydiving place in Union City I've been wanting to check out. We could go experience something new and intense together. That would make for one wild first date! Afterwards we could hit up the hot tub to relax and unwind, or shoot some pool, or just go for a walk.
