I've lived in Portland for a few years now and have had various degrees of trouble meeting people that I really want to hang out with. I'm looking for friends, people that enjoy hanging out or going to catch a movie on the weekend. I am not adverse to dating, if it turns into that, but I only recently got out of a serious relationship and so would prefer to meet and hang out as friends first before becoming more emotionally involved. I am completely disinterested in hook-ups or one night stands.
I am a student at Portland State University and have my Associate's Degree and am working on my Bachelor's in criminal justice.
I have my own place and my my own car.I've always liked cars and liked working on them, it is very much a hobby of mine, so people that are similarly interested are almost friends of mine already!
I do not smoke, drink, or use drugs, and am looking for friends who prefer to avoid these things as well (recreational or social drinking is acceptable, of course).
I am at the point in my life where I'm looking to build solid and lasting foundations with people that I like and get along with. As friends and with a love interest. I'm looking for people whose personalities and interests match with mine, as do their values. I am interested in finding someone special to share my life with, but again, that is not the primary concern at the moment.

This may sound like i dont know what i want, i know exactly what i want, and thats a serious, commited, loving relationship. I just want to start out as friends first, and see where it goes from there. Ive jumped into relationships before, and they have not worked out, so i need to obviously try something different. I dont want to jump right back into something either, because i don't want it to just be a rebound relationship.

Doing something where theres a chance to talk and really get to know someone. Maybe go for a hike if its nice outside, or just grab a drink down at the local Sbucks! =) Dinner and movie is always nice too, but traditional
