I think of myself as a geek who knows computer software, but not writing code. I have background in human service fields as well. I'm also building (slowly) an art business. But that's my work side.

Personally, my inner athlete was in hiding for awhile, but I love learning new things, and I'm getting back on track again. I like to walk/hike, I'm a beginner at tennis, I'd like to get off the exercise bike and on a real one again (don't own one right now), and I'll try nearly anything once. I'm good at steering the canoe, but have yet to venture into a kayak. It's on my list when springtime rolls around again.

However, all that said, if you're looking for a barbie doll, go to Mattel's website and fantasize. I'm a funny, nice looking, active woman who is still working on getting the optimal figure for ME. I'm a work of art in progress, if you will. :)

I also respect your right to believe whatever you want ("what a country!" as Yaakov Smirnov says), but I don't date anyone who is strongly religious or republican. I have many good acquaintances who are either religious or conservative, but I'm not going to date someone who doesn't share similar ideals. Don't be offended, you wouldn't like me either. :)

I like to talk with people on nearly any topic, and get excitable when talking with a group of people about something that piques my interest. I love travel, though haven't had nearly the chances to do it as I would like. I'm a natural teacher/trainer, and sometimes need to learn to shut up in my excitement and give others a chance to teach ME. That has come over the years with growth and maturity, though I can still be excitable when on a topic I'm passionate about. This doesn't mean I prattle on and on. I'm just as comfortable being quiet and enjoying company as I am in deep conversation. I'm a researcher as well, and if I find an interest in something, I'll usually research the hell out of it until I get distracted by the next "pretty color" in the line of things I like to learn.

I'm interested in talking if: you like to get out and do things, and enjoy great conversation on lots of topics. If you are NOT married and looking for something on the side. If you are NOT a couch potato. I had some pretty big metabolic issues for a long time that sapped my strength - not anymore - and I'm ready to go! :)

A first date is about doing something that invites conversation and getting to know one another - window shopping funky stores, coffee shops, walking in an interesting (and at least relatively public) place, dinner with a glass of wine or a beer. Really, any activity that invites good "getting-to-know-you" conversation, including a rousing game of putt-putt.
