I'm a passionate, tree-hugging, non-religious, unapologetic liberal, who appreciates the quieter, more reflective side of life. I  love the arts (dance, theater, museums), the sciences, all types of music, being outside almost anywhere (especially near an ocean), photography, cooking, and  exploring  new places. I'm an avid hiker and nature enthusiast, and enjoy gardening and carpentry (working with my hands). I'm supportive, respectful, understanding, playful, and affectionate.

As an older parent (I have a school-age son),  I've found that there is no greater
joy or challenge than raising a child. At times it is a struggle, but the rewards
are amazing and he is the light and inspiration in my life. I am so fortunate that
I can experience parenthood, even at this age  and don't regret my decision even
for a second.

I highly value honesty, integrity, and intelligence, and am most comfortable with an
affectionate, warm, and sensual person. A good sense of humor and frequent silliness
is also important, since I love to laugh. I'm not pretentious, and don't care what
make of car you drive, the size of your house, or whether you wear designer labels.
I'm much more interested in your passions and dreams, whether you like sunsets or
sunrises more, and how you treat others and our planet. A healthy diet and regular
exercise are also very important to me. And, I prefer someone who is neat, clean,
and organized (like me).

Although this probably sounds like a cliche, I believe the key to a good relationship is open and honest communication and good compatibility. Couples who have common interests and beliefs seem to be closer and better equipped to grow and prosper. Opposites may attract, but do they to endure?
