I enjoy the simple things in life like hiking through the woods, watching the sun set, enjoying a good conversation and a laugh with that special someone over a glass of wine and good music. I'm a stern believer in stopping to smell the roses. Life can sometimes be too fast paced.

I'll tell you a little about me ... I was born in Cuba and came to the U.S. with my parents and one sister when I was only 3, so I consider myself more American than Cuban. I grew up in Connecticut and moved to Miami when I was 19. I graduated from FIU with a B.S. degree in Medical Technology.

One of my first jobs in Miami was working at Monkey Jungle. I was a tour guide and talked to the people about the monkeys. Not that I'm an expert in monkeys, lol! ... I would recite from a script that I had memorized. It was a part time job that I had while going to school. It was a lot of fun! I also worked as a short order cook flipping burgers while living in Connecticut (right after high school). That was fun too! My serious jobs started after college. I'm now the manager of the Quality Control - Laboratory for a pharmaceutical company. I'm responsible for the operations of the Lab and have 12 employees (laboratory technicians) that report to me. They're a great group and make my job a lot easier.

Much of my spare time is spent with my kids, two amazing boys - ages 4 & 2. They keep me on my toes and give me a work out just playing with them! They live with their mom, so when I don't have them I like to go running, watch movies, and sometimes watch sports.

I'm looking to spend my life with that special lady who I can be myself with and so can she. A good sense of humor is a must. You've got to be able to laugh and enjoy life. I consider myself somewhat conservative yet try to maintain an open mind as well. I'm a good listener, so feel free to express your thoughts openly with me. Conversation is very important, although once we get to know each other well we will be able to glance into each other's eyes and know what the other is feeling and thinking. Of course chemistry is just as important. There have got to be sparks!

I want to able to listen to my date and get to know more about her, so a first date with me will be in a quiet, cozy restaurant with soft music playing in the background.
