As for hobbies, I especially like doing anything that transports me to somewhere beyond the normal and mundane. I paint, (mostly digitally now) and love to create fantasy themed things from costumes & fairy wings to virtual goods. I am lucky enough to have made a living doing the things I love. I do work a lot but am looking forward to making more free - and fun - time for myself. Laughter is important to me, and although I seem to be a fairy princess on the outside I can have a raunchy sense of humor once you get to know me ;-) I'm in love with Jud Apatow's movies and almost all of the work that has come from the 'Freaks & Geeks' bunch. I've recently discovered Terry Pratchett and am now hooked on the witches series of books.
My goal in life right now is to take advantage of every opportunity to be happy, including taking risks that may seem scary - such as online dating! I don't want fear to run my life or keep me from something great. I love what I do for work, but family and friends are more important than money, it's not an important factor of my own or anyone else's worth as a person.
I am sensitive but level headed and get along with almost everyone, but tend to connect strongly with a small circle of people. I love spending time with friends but really value time to myself as well. Big crowds with lots of people I don't know tend to keep me in my shell but throw me in a room with a few cool people and I quickly warm up.
I have a pretty wide range in my taste in music, some techno, some tribal/ambient, soundtracks too. U2 and The Cure are some favorites, sometimes Coldplay, Jimmy Eat World and Ingrid Michaelson too. I LOVE the Planet Terror / Grindhouse soundtrack :)
I'm sure I'll be editing this as time goes on, since I, like anyone else, am always changing, learning and growing with each new day and experience.

Something simple and low pressure, there is always the cliché coffee date, but I am open to whatever. As long as we get to talk and find out a bit about each other to see whether there is a connection there.
I like to go into this with reserved expectations so that I don't get nervous or feel I have to put on a show. Let's talk and see if we're on familiar ground:)
I am open to just dating, and long-term if it unfolds that way but am definitely not pushing to jump into a long term relationship just for the sake of it.
