Hi there! I am happily self-employed daughter, aunt, sister, teacher, counselor and friend, with a few coast-to-coast lifetimes to speak of and a belief that a knack for reinventing oneself on a regular basis (as opposed to a spotless mind) is the real key to eternal sunshine. This means although I'm native to DC I can find you great tortillas in San Diego, hiking trails in Tucson, forests in New England and boatdocks on the eastern shore...and would enjoy every trip, for different reasons.

It also means every day in my current profession - university teacher, financial analyst, advisor, storyteller - is a little bit different, and always fun since by now as often as not the reason I'm asked to help my clients is because I get to be me: helpful, friendly, funny, and open. While the work is often serious, I am often not - deciding which direction to take for many of my DC-based students in particular (and their organizations) is gravity enough. Does give me a lot to think about at the end of every day but I don't mind, since I'd rather discuss events than absorb one-way information feeds any time.

For a break, I'm usually outside running, on my bike, digging in the dirt, or playing with the dog, although with the change in daylight and weather those are all a bit harder to work in. For this winter I'll be in the pool recertifying my scuba license (Belize trip next spring), falling down and having a lot of fun in the process at the outdoor ice rink on the mall, and making a concerted effort to reintroduce myself to some city spots I haven't visited in a while. It's true my interests are pretty varied! I'm hoping you're the same, you (still) have your sense of adventure, and that although every life can be improved you're also basically happy with your life as it is. And if you can make me laugh, you're golden. Yes?
