About Me
My name is Russ and I a 32 year old software engineer living in Dallas, TX. I'm 6'3 and 200 pounds. I'm single and have no kids. I'm white and have brown hair and brown eyes. I have two dogs and love the outdoors.

Here are some completely random things about me:

- I can't do my current job well without sleeping 7-8 hours each night (this wasn't the case with previous jobs).

- I tend to read things backwards (like instructions, manuals, magazines, etc...).

- My main refrigerator (the one without the drinks in it) has only an onion and condiments in it

- I'm not much of a cook, well, I guess I just have never really tried, but I can throw a steak on the grill

- My favorite drink is Captain Morgan and Coke

- I also like beer and red wine, but typically only drink in social situations.

- I don't smoke, well except for an occasional cigar but that is very rare.

- I exercise at least 3 times a week

- I have lived in the same place since 1999

- I live alone

- I have worked for the same company since 1997

- I work from home often

- I've been to many cool places around the world for both business and pleasure

- I have scuba dived with Sharks, without a cage

- I have a 27 year old sister and a 10 year old half sister

- I suffer from white man's disease, the number one killer of rhythm (I can't dance well, but don't mind trying)

- I have an annoying tendency to sometimes quote movies (see above)

- Most of my friends are married

- I'm a leo, but I think astrology is BS

- I trained one of my dogs to retrieve things from the bottom of my pool, he can swim underwater for about 30 seconds at a time

- If you ask, I will actually tell you what I think about something (which isn't always a good thing)

- I grew up on a ranch with horses, although you'd never guess that if you met me

- My parents used to ride in the Mesquite rodeo, and I would also ride in the grand entry

- My first car was a Geo Storm

- I love comedies but don't mind suffering through a chick flick from time to time

- I wear boxer briefs

- I like rock, alternative, and the blues

- I like to play basketball, golf, and pretty much anything outdoors.

- I am a Dallas Mavericks fan. I had season tickets for two seasons (several years ago) and named my two dogs after them.

- I grew up here in Dallas (Mesquite actually) so I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan.

- I have a sickness for stupid T-Shirts. I wear shirts like "Have you seen my stapler", "More Cowbell", and "Vandelay Industries".

- I think I'm not photogenic.

- I have taken the Meyers-Briggs tests at least 5 times and my personality type is always the same, ENTP.

- It pisses me off that the most abundant thing on Earth, water, costs more than gasoline. Of course I'm referring to bottled water. Especially that Fiji water! I have to admit, it does taste better for some reason...

- It drives me crazy when people use the word "loose" when they meant to use the word "lose". Everybody has weird pet peeves don't they? Hopefully? lol!

- I moved out of my parents house when I was 17, between my junior and senior year in high school. I've been on my own ever since.

- The furthest place I've been from Dallas is New Zealand.

- I use Windows based computers, although I find nothing wrong with Apple or open source users.

- When I was younger I was somewhat addicted to video games. I had to force myself to stop playing them (PC games) and actually did so. They were simply too time consuming. Now I own a Wii, which is perfect because it's fun, but only for about 30 minutes at a time.

- I own a Zune, not an iPod, because the smaller version (which competes with the Nano I think) has a built in radio and wireless capabilities. Those iTouch's are pretty cool though.

What I’m doing with my life...
I'm always learning, usually by taking classes of some type or reading about subjects I'm interested in and/or apply to my job. I'm not really sure what my future holds career wise but my goal is to get an MBA from SMU within the next 3 years. It won't help me in my current field but if I decide to get out of IT one day it probably will help. Regarding relationships, it would be great to eventually meet that someone special, although she's been tough to find thus far.

I’m really good at...
Computers, probably because it's my job, but just somehow have always had a knack for solving complex computer problems. I'm not bad at poker and have a decent 3-point shot. I'm a good communicator and can usually speak to large audiences with ease.

The first things people usually notice about me...
My height, I'm not that tall but people sure tell me I am. Most people find me very approachable and easy to talk to. I can usually talk about most any subject and would rather listen than talk about myself.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food...

Food: I love a good steak, Mexican food, Italian, well I'm not picky :-)

Books: I like to read but don't have time to read for pleasure as I'm usually reading technical manuals for my job. If I ever do get time to read I enjoy non-fiction. For instance, after 911 I read much of the Quran simply for curiousity. History books are great too, yes I'm a geek like that! :-)

Movies: Office Space, The Big Lebowski, Super Bad, Badder Santa, Bottle Rocket, Caddyshack, Dazed and Confused, Employee of the Month, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Kingpin, Mallrats, Napolean Dynamite, O Brother Where Art Thou, Old School, Pitch Black, Pulp Fiction, Rushmore, Sideways, Snatch, Super Troopers, Talladega Nights, Anchorman, The 40-year old virgin, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zizzou, The Royal Tenebaums, Waiting, Whipped, Dogma, Chasing Amy, Clerks, Casino, The Godfather, Donnie Brasco, Goodfellas, Scarface, Semi-Pro, Little Miss Sunshine, and Love Stinks.

Shows: Seinfeld, Curb your Enthusism, Flight of the Concords, The Sopranos, Rome, Brotherhood, Reno 911, The Tudors, Rescue Me, Deadwood, Entourage, Family Guy, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Big Love.

Music: Nivana, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Rise Against, Weezer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Aerosmith, Steve Miller Band, Johnny Cash, Marvin Gaye, The Eagles, Green Day, The Smashing Pumkins, Stone Temple Pilots, and Bowling for Soup.

First Date
My Profile Continued...

The six things I could never do without
My friends, family, dogs, house, car, and definitely HBO! I have a wonderful family (no kids though), some great friends, and awesome dogs. My house provides shelter, although I could live in an apartment, but a house is nicer since I've got two big dogs. My cars are simply a requirement because I live in Dallas, which has very little decent public transportation, especially if you live in the burbs like I do.

I spend a lot of time thinking about...
If I'll ever find someone special to spend the rest of my life with. I try to stay up-to-date with the happenings around the world (politics, terrorism, scientific breakthrough's, global markets, etc...). Planning what I'm going to do in the next week, month, etc... I'm naturally not a planner but I'm so busy that I've found I have to plan otherwise I can't keep up with what I'm supposed to be doing from day to day.

On a typical Friday night I am...
Usually going out to do something. I like staying in sometimes as well and don't mind being alone, so when I get a Friday night like that it's very nice. I'll have an a drink on occasion so happy hour on Fridays after work is always fun.

You should message me if...
You're looking for an honest, smart, and exciting guy to get to know better.

I'm specifically looking for an intelligent, honest, independant, and attractive woman. I don't really factor age, race, or religion and find 'fit' women physically attractive. My theory on dating is to be friends first and if something happens it happens.
