I just moved to the city in August for a job that I love. I live by myself and don't really know a whole lot of people up here. I'm content with where I am, but it would be nice to meet someone to connect with.

I'm a very creative person. In fact, I get paid to be creative and have fun. You couldn't ask for more in a job... except for more money, but I make a stable income.

I love my parents and sister dearly, and am so grateful to have grown up in a stable household. I consider myself a normal, very even-keel guy and I attribute that to a loving and stable household. Hopefully you would share that same quality.

I'm the guy who opens doors for you, will fight you to the death to pay for things for you, and if we were in a cheesy movie from the 1950's, I'd be the guy who would carry your books to class for you.

Let's go back to the creative thing. Part of being creative is being observant. Now here's the double-edged sword for me. Unless I'm with someone I trust completely, I have a tendency to keep my thoughts to myself and act on them only when I need to. The mind of a creative type is sort of... an enigma.

I'm a very private about myself for the most part, but I really go out of my way to make people around me feel comfortable. I invite them to share things with me about themselves. I've really developed a STRONG sense of human psychology and the inner workings of a healthy relationship. So if I were to admit my biggest fault, it's that I have trouble opening up to someone at first. It's not an impossibility for me to do this, as I've made a strong bond with a lot of friends of mine. BUT, as far as relationships go, I don't think I've been given enough of a chance with it. I really need someone with a similar personality to me in this regard. I need you to be inviting for me to open up.

Here's the part where I list my favorite generic activities that everyone else seems to have: I LOVE music and cannot leave the house without my iPod on me. I especially like indie stuff and am a big fan of concerts (which there seem to be a lot of around here). I like photography and, because of my job, I get to play with some of the newest, greatest gadgets available. I like geocaching (an odd hobby, one I haven't done yet in Chicago but am ready to find someone adventurous enough to try it with me). I consider myself a Cubs fan, yet have NEVER been to a game at Wrigley Field... oh... and I live like 5 blocks from it now. Shame on me. I'm sort of a renaissance man when it comes to artistic stuff. I write, I like cooking (I'm still new to it, so evenings spent with a special someone cooking together would be great :)), I do a lot of graphic design work, both for fun and for freelance. And most importantly, I make films. That's my biggest passion and is fortunately what I do for a living.

Okay, now that I've pitched myself, hopefully I can end this with a final thought here. I'm not the best looking guy, I'm not the funniest, nor do I claim to be anything but average. BUT I am a great listener, I know how to be a good friend, I'm loyal to a fault, and I will NEVER forget your birthday, favorite flower, ring size or our anniversary. I'm passionate about life, respectful and honest. I'm not the jealous type, I can respect a girls' night and have no problem showing affection towards you in public. It's important to find a balance between really enjoying the time spent together, but also remaining autonomous. I would make sure that you would be taken care of and I'd hope you'd do the same for me. I can only hope to find a match with someone who shares a similar passion for life, love and career that I do.
