Becoming increasingly happy and secure within myself and realizing after a few false starts and a bit of introspection that maybe it’s time to start thinking about looking again…seeking friendships with people of similar interests. I am a huge music fan….Beatles and other 60’s bands and also progressive rock (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson). Not into country or rap at all…can’t stand being within earshot of either so if that’s what you love I’m not the girl for you! Really serious about that part, by the way. I am a painter, though I don’t have a lot of time or space to do that in these days… made a meager living at it for a time but now work in a much more mundane job in order to keep home and hearth intact (yes, I have a job and you do, too… right?) . My children are all grown but my 19 year old son still lingers….I can metaphorically see him standing on the edge of the nest, wings flapping like crazy…almost ready to fledge, but not quite there. He is an amazing musician and band practice is always at my house. I am THE rock & roll mom! I play a bit myself, too, and recently bought myself a nice Martin acoustic guitar (D15). If you also play that would be great… I am very supportive of that particular passion and would happily watch and listen to you play for hours on end, assuming you’re reasonably good at it and it’s something you love to do. More of a consumer of music than an actual participant? That’s fine too…….let’s go watch someone else play! It’s the passion for the art that I adore, even if it’s only as someone sitting next to me in the audience appreciating it as much as I do.

I appreciate a great sense of humor and someone who doesn’t take the crap life tosses at us too seriously. I love a degree of eccentricity, perhaps because I’ve come to embrace my own. Not interested in anyone still pining for an ex or carrying grudges for same that will spill over onto me….. I am me and not her so please don’t assume I’m going to do x, y or z to you as she did. And, by the way I intend to stay exactly who I am…I’m happy with me and what I do so not really anxious to become someone else if I don’t quite fit what you’re looking for on some level. Not that I am not willing to be as pleasing as I can be for my life partner….I am just fundamentally who I am and am neither willing nor able to change that, and very honestly I think “me” is pretty awesome. Right now I’m more interested in forging friendships than relationships, though am more than willing and excited to see what direction the friendships may lead. “Baggage” is OK as long as it’s not in the form of steamer trunks! You don’t get to this age without acquiring a certain degree of “history”. I seek someone who is reasonably fit and healthy, again realizing that at this age you’re bound to have a few things going on physically. I know I do, but I think most of us have an issue or two after 50. So many men on here just love their motorcycles...They are pretty to look at but you’ll never and I repeat NEVER catch me on the back of one! Am I asking for a lot? Maybe… but I think I’m also offering a lot in return. Drop a line and let’s see what happens!
