I'm David, I moved to San Francisco about 4 months ago, previous to that I lived in the the Mecca of social ecstasy that is the South Bay, I just couldn't handle the excitement anymore and had to move to he calmer, more tranquil setting of San Francisco. Alright, so I'm knocking the South Bay a bit but in actual fact it seems a great place for those more homely or those raising a family, shall we say those growing-up. Unfortunately I am not there yet, I still crave spontaneity, I love waking up and not knowing where I will visit, who I would will meet and what I will do before I go to bed. I guess that's what leads me here, the fact that for the last month that excitement in life seems to have lessened, and I think it's about time I meet some new people that can bring it back.

Previous to moving to California I have lived in New York, both the city and up-state, which were two polar opposites in terms of experiences but still led to me meeting some truly exceptional people. Prior to that I lived in London, which as distant as it now seems will always be my home.

My interests/hobbies are pretty varied. I guess my biggest love at the moment is guitar, I've been learning for about 2 1/2 years and am now at the stage where I actually think I sound decent. Other people have supported my opinion, but in all actual fact is a friend really going to say: "that sounded like shit". In my opinion probably not, but as long as you enjoy it who cares what other people think. I think that philosophy can be applied to a lot in life.

I also enjoy traveling, one of my goals before I grow up (and possibly move back to the South Bay), is to take a year out from whatever I am doing and travel the world. I am fortunate that my travels have already taken me to a lot of Europe and America, however there are so many places I still yearn to visit: Australasia, large sections of Asia, and some of Latin America are all on my list.

Finally I am fascinated by entrepreneurship, I truly believe one day I will start my own business. The thought of working for myself and not someone else and the thought of making work decisions that can actually change my life are what drives me. I can understand why people prefer sitting in a cubicle working for a multinational corporation, it's secure, it guarantees a pay check and to be perfectly blunt it is comfortable. For me though, going through life on auto pilot and taking the safe option is not what I want my life to be. I want something more. Problem is I need a killer idea and to surround myself with people that can make it happen.

I don't think I can really describe a first date as I think it depends on what is happening at the time. I mean, if there is a musician or band playing that you and I like, lets go see them. If there is a street festival that sounds interesting, lets go check it out. If it is a beautiful summer day lets go for a hike, or ride a bike or walk round a park.

I think that what I can do is say that I would tend to stay away from places that we cannot talk, I have never seen the point of doing the cliche "lets go to the cinema" on a first date, after-all isn't it an occasion where you get to know someone, how can this happen when you go to a place that requires quiet. Anyplace that permits conversation is fine with me.
