Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, I moved out here after accepting a position teaching mostly guitar students. I also perform as a professional guitarist (mostly jazz, Latin, blues and classical) and love it. Currently, I am in graduate school finishing up a PhD in Musicology - It really is a degree, and I have the tuition invoices to prove it. :) If nothing else, I hear the degree is good for origami, paper airplanes, and for those times when you haven't anything around to jot down a note. If you can think of another use it may have, please let me know: I am open to suggestions.

I enjoy those who have a sense of humor; are sincere with their words; and respect a difference in opinion. Friendship is fundamental to any relationship and it is from this stance I approach people in general. If it goes somewhere naturally then fine, but nothing of any beauty is ever forced.

I am not prejudicial: I don't care about looks, socioeconomic background, or educational background. (Some of the most brilliant people I know never graduated from a college.) No matter how great the differences maybe between people, there remains the fact that we are all human; this is one of the things I enjoy about meeting others from different cultures and backgrounds. It is not to say that looks play no part in attraction but rather that it has never precluded me from befriending someone.

I am a genuine and sincere person, but also very silly at times. (I love cracking people up.) People without a sense of levity are most often fairly unpleasant to be around. These types who take themselves too seriously don't tend to like me, which is perfectly fine. Regardless of the outcome, I enjoy the process of simply getting to know someone. Much like any journey, the real fun and vitality is in the process itself, not a predetermined arrival point. This is from where great stories stem, and who doesn't love a good story?
