Not looking for a "Hard Headed Woman" just a "True Companion". As you can tell by my "Headline" I really like Cat Stevens. I also am not looking for someone to "fix". At this age there really should be nothing to fix let alone anything that could be changed. ;0)

My friends say that I am the "still waters run deep" kind of guy. I enjoy many styles of music from Jazz to Pop, Steely Dan to JT, Boz Skaggs to Bocelli. I recently saw Marc Cohn (sang and wrote "True Companion") at the Pabst. I even like to go shopping at out of the way "antique" stores to contemplating with my good friends the aspects of Thornhill's "Electric Universe" or Dan Brown's latest novel. I love to play my 12 string and learn new ways to play the guitar now that I have the time. I even admit to singing Karaoke once in a blue moon and am a great cook or so I have been told. Right now I am learning to cook real Chinese from a friend. We could cook something up together, Yes? Would love to get back into dancing again. The only baggage I have from the past now contains my SCUBA gear, love to race sailboats and have been to France and Ireland and want to go again with someone other than my two adult sons, daughter-in-law and three year old grandson this time. Ireland was fantastic as was Paris and the Louvre. I did fall in love with a western city of Galway, Ireland. Very old and quite romantic as was Paris.

I've raised three sons as a single parent as well as a foster son. You want to learn how to be an effective communicator then become a foster parent. What a great experience! In Colorado, where I lived, they put a foster parent through an extensive college course in psychology. This is where I received my real degree in the school of life as to how important unconditional love is.

I love to fix things, mechanically, that are broken. Around the house and cars and gardening there is nothing I cannot tackle. I believe in trust, being trusted and have a trusting nature "to a fault" as one of my good friends tells me. Forget about finding love if you cannot find trust in your own heart.

My three sons are out of the home a number of years now and are all doing very well. I am proud of them! I love children so if you were to have some still at home they would be loved. I used to know my Meyers Briggs but suffice it to say I am a "caretaker" type of personality ( has anyone heard of EFT?). I do enjoy my quiet time when I get it, I do not believe that anyone has to raise their voice except in danger or to make an echo in the Rockies. I enjoy currently a peaceful life but I am missing someone to share life with. All my friends tell me this. Besides knowing there is a woman out there who will be that match for me I also have been missing one of mans best friends; a dog. In the past I have had the pleasure of a black lab named Sam, a mut or two and an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie named Pepper. I think I will be looking for a Labradoodle or better yet a Portuguese Water Hound. Both are quiet, secure and smart dogs that do not shed. Any Ideas here?

I think the first meeting or two should be informal and go out for coffee or light lunch. I am not looking for anything quick here. I am looking for something substantial, long lasting. I want both of us to know that we are going to be great friends first. I am not sure if I believe in "Love-at-first-sight" type of thing but a certain sense of attraction both physically and spiritually is significantly important. I do know that healthy communication and conflict resolution, if needed, are the most important virtues in a healthy relationship. Real love, Agape', is not that easy to come by and takes a constant appreciation and respect given towards the person who has chosen you to be with. As for Eros well that remains to be seen. ;-O I am spiritually connected and have a great faith but not into organized Western religion. And it seems lately I am delving into learning things metaphysical. I love keeping the mind active and to be able to have great verbal intercourse with someone who feels the same.

I am looking for someone who is also the "still waters run deep" kind of gal. Who doesn't just enjoy walking on the beach or in the woods but have you pulled out a fly rod and caught a trout? Ever wanted to go on a sailboat as it tips to one side? (no, no bungee jumping for me!) Is your demureness mistaken for shyness? Do you enjoy banter and verbal jousting? Wrestling on the floor or a dance in the rain? Not afraid to get out there with the boys yet throw on a silk teddy beneath the bluejeans and flannel shirt to go out to shoot pool? A tomboy of sorts. Been to the Symphony here in Milwaukee? Love to go to Estate sales or antiquing to find that "steal of a deal".

As you can see I am an eclectic mixture of indoor/outdoor person who enjoys fast walks, working out, I have rollerblades but I like good times indoors. I am a nurturer but not an enabler. A Renaissance Man to say the least.

I wrote so much here yet there is so much more to knowing who I am. I have done this to give an idea of who I am. I do not "need" someone and I certainly do not need a mother, thank you. I am a committed monogamous man and enjoy undivided attention that is expressed both ways. What I do desire is a person with some of my values in life. Someone who wants to share her life with me, be happy and fulfilled.
