To cut to the chase, my work is my hobby. Guess you could say I make good money from my hobby. Work for myself (I am the only one who can fire me!-It does take discipline however) My work keeps me in shape (I've never been overweight) and I eat pretty healthy as well as take supplements/vitamins that you don't get in most of the foods out there. I plant my own garden so I can get the freshest veggies and know there are no "additives". I read the labels in the store (avoid anything with MSG or hydrogenated oils).
Love to play golf when I have opportunities to do so. Like to landscape my property. Love playing darts and shuffleboard with friends & my kids.
I go to many trade shows and the like and love talking with and encouraging the people that I meet. I love paying things forward. I like talking with people who have lost their battle with or are battling breast cancer to better ease worry (lost my wife to this nasty disease in May of 2007).

Grew up listening to and loving music. Have been a guitar player for 40 years and love entertaining myself and others with my abilities on the instrument. Like old and new artists from Jackson Browne, Neil Young to the Fruit Bats & Monsters of Folk... Keller Williams has some good music out there lately. I have never looked (my photo is from my son's wedding last year) or (sorry) "acted" my age. I'm pretty young at heart and hang out with my two kids (25, 26) a lot. Their friends love me because I'm like one of them. Some of them (females) flirt with me and that gets a little awkward I must say. I just love life and never have much trouble communicating with people (Sociology & Psychology degrees may have helped me there). I guess you could say I'm just a fun guy.


I can be pretty down to earth but love to make others laugh (my wit I guess). I'm one of seven kids and we all still stay in touch constantly. I love family...fun and games with family...good intellectual conversations with family...giving encouragement to family when they need it. Don't care much for sitting in front of the TV all night but I do like a good movie with a bowl of popcorn (I actually grew my own popcorn in my garden this year).

Right now looking for an intellectual, independent, attractive female to date and have fun with & be friends with as well. I would like her to care about her physical health and staying in shape. Good companionship and friendship is what I'm looking for at the moment. Long term relationships and attachments have to blossom. They're not like mushrooms that are quickly there and then gone.

On line dating is time consuming I must say but I have met some very nice people in the process. Everyone is a unique person, specially made and the vibe (chemistry) just has to be there for two people to connect. If there is no chemistry at the first meeting I think at least one of us will know.
Nervousness and apprehension are factors I know but you can quickly cut through that especially with me.

The first date to me is actually the second meeting of whoever one connects with on this site. There has to be a “chemistry” at the first meeting. I would prefer it to be in a public setting (coffee shop, restaurant, park, or a place where we agree to meet). If we agree to see each other again (2nd meeting, 1st date) I would want to be a mutually agreed upon activity (I may throw in a few suggestions...after all it's my treat and I'm a romantic character when I so choose to be). I’m not a control freak like some guys so I would like her input to a place where she feels comfortable.
