I work in IT field training the blind and visually impaired to work in the hospitality field. That means I travel and see the country, both for training our students and getting them set up at the job site when they get hired. Recently, I had the opportunity to spend time in an office building in Orlando, envious of those who spend daylight hours soaking up the sun instead of fluorescent lighting.

I have a degree in Secondary Education/Social Studies, which more often than not translates to "do you want fries with that?". Despite having chosen a career path where I gain more satisfaction from the thank-you cards students give me than the amount of my paycheck, I am still able to pay my bills and have something left for a fun night. I work with a great group of people, and I can say I make an impact in the lives of the people I teach. On most days, that's more than enough to keep me motivated for work.

I am a voracious reader, its my way of unwinding and temporarily leaving reality. I'll read just about any historical fiction, plenty of biographies and anything that is well-written and draws me in.

I'll watch just about anything when it comes to movies, but I tend to shy away from horror flicks. I haven't gotten out to the movies as much as I'd like, I'd prefer to have someone with me to talk about the movie afterward.

As for music, I'm mostly into country, but I also enjoy oldies, classical, or instrumental works -- almost anything but rap and hip-hop.

Every first date ought to be unique, as the first daters are just as unique.
