Hey there, I'm Becki. I'm a midwestern girl at heart, born in Milwaukee, WI with many family members still there. I moved down to Texas when I was young so this is home. My family transferred back up north (outside of Chicago), so I spend quite a few vacations up there visiting. Hopefully soon, they'll come back to Texas! When I'm not there, I'm always in touch with them through email and phone. My family is very important to me, and I hope to one day have one of my own that I am just as close with.
I am a 5th grade teacher going on 5 years now. My job has it's ups and downs, but I love it. Every year and every day is different and I'm constantly learning something new. It's a profession that I can see myself staying in, although I want to go back for my masters. Just not sure what area yet, but something to give me options outside of the classroom. Regardless, I want to continue to work with the kids!
I moved to Austin about 2 1/2 years ago from Corpus Christi....and I love it here! I have so many friends up here from high school and college so it's great to get together for football games, celebrations, or just a random BBQ. I'm always up for making new ones though too! I recently "adopted" a stray lab-mix some friends found hopping across a highway. I've had her since she was 4 months old, and this month she turns a year. I've learned great patience with her, especially when losing a favorite pairs of shoes that satisfied her chewing needs! It's nice to have someone who is excited to see you when you come home (the cats just lay on the bed or where ever!). Plus, she makes an excellent running partner!
Some of my favorites are: the band Blue October, the month of October (love Halloween and everything about it!), Fall, holidays and traditions with family, road trips, enjoying a glass of wine of the porch, watching scary movies but having someone to curl up to later when I get spooked, running and working out (especially after a rough day!), amusement parks and roller coasters, my animals, watching movies at the Alamo or curled up on the couch at home, football (and fantasy football with my girls league!)....and too many more to name! Just loving life in general!

First dates can be fun or they can be awkward. I think it's always good to meet up for a drink someone...then maybe wing it from there! Dinner and movies are great for later dates, but initially meeting up for a drink and some conversation is good for that first time. And hey, if we hit it off at that point then there will be the dinner, movie, and further hanging out to come! So, if you think we'd hit it off, let's go grab a drink!
