I'm advised not to put my name on here, but I like to live on the edge. My name is Alex and I've lived in the Austin area for nearly two years. I'm originally from Dallas and spent my early twenties in the Army. I left after three years and one deployment and made my way back to Texas (as everyone does, or so I'm told). I'm working while going to school for a degree in global studies.

Almost everything I see and hear can be made into a joke. I love to laugh and spread infectious giggles to others. I have a serious streak and a disciplined attitude when it comes to work and school, but equilibrium is key. Above all, I'm looking for someone to share wonderful times with.

There is little better in life than going to see a first run film at the Alamo Drafthouse or curling up on the couch to watch a movie. I'm a huge film buff and I'll see anything in any era in any language, though I'm no snob. I'll see The Seventh Seal and follow it up with Pineapple Express. Again, variety is a wonderful thing.

My best kept secret around most people is my love for writing. As I sit in class I daydream about being a freelance photographer and writer covering international conflicts in glamorous destinations like Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. I'm putting away money for a digital SLR, but I'm happy with the results from my point and shoot:
