I live in New Jersey. I graduated college in 1969 with a B.S. in chemical engineering, as well as a B.A. I retired ~ 6 years ago from my career as an engineer for the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), enforcing laws that protect against water pollution. I've never been married; though I have never had children of my own, I am god-father to three children (now grown), who are very dear to me.

I own a home here in NJ, as well as several vacation >time-share' condos. My favorite spot to visit each year is on the coast of North Carolina, where several of my >time-share> weeks are located. I enjoy reading and cinema, and love to play bridge and backgammon, as well as doing crossword puzzles. Although I have now retired, I both look and act younger than my age? I've been lucky in that I've never gained much weight in middle-age, but I work out at a fitness spa just enough to ensure that I stay slim? I'm ~ 6'1" & 162#. For recreation and exercise, I play tennis (though not very expertly!).

Over the past few years, I have become active in my (Lutheran) church; I was President of the congregation. I taught Sunday School; I sing in both our regular and contemporary choirs. I also work at a food pantry set up by four churches in our town, distributing groceries to needy families.
