I would like to predicate this with, if you're one who does not make the effort to write at least a few profound truths about yourself; and does not offer pictures (plural) that show what you really look like, than stop reading now: Go on to the next lovely pics here in cyber space!

My appearance:
I added this here, since most people comment that I look like I am in my early forties. I believe it is important to be honest, so I put down my chronological age, although; I feel it doesn't accurately portray how I look or what I am into. I also look like my pictures so if you like what you see, most likely you won't be disappointed when we meet.

My temperament: I am right on the borderline of introversion/extroversion so that means I enjoy the richness and comfort of being in my own skin, yet, I also enjoy the company of close friends, family and any positive fun interaction with others. I am rather intuitive-right brain, creative individual, but I also find balance in left-brain problem solving. I am sensitive to others' needs, but also careful about listening to myself in the way of my needs being met, or setting healthy boundaries with others. I am an active healthy person, but will allow myself and others the right and luxury to total slugdom or indulgence if that's what is needed (especially after a frantic work week)I can be very spontaneous, but also like to plan and keep my life/work organized...You will not find me easily frazzled and over committed...Basically, I have been described by others as balanced, sound, quirky, funny,enthusiastic, energetic, calm...you get the picture...well-rounded and not prone to excess...

My lifestyle:
I have a great lifestyle...I love my profession, I am very good at it; but I do enjoy a lot of time off, since I work a four day work week. That means long weekends, holidays and summers for study, projects, fun, relaxation (aka slugdom) and time spent with friends and loved ones...so weekend get-ways and visits work for me.

My focus:
I live my life with conscious mindfulness, being present, grateful for life's gifts. I have harmonious and supportive relationships in my profession, family, friends and community.(No skeletons in my closet, they're buried in the backyard! Actually, they're the bones of my two dead cats that I miss very much...so if I get to know you I will tell you all about them...) ah...the quirky side comes out...Being a life-long learner, I feel my life is expansive and I am continuing to evolve into the person I have always wanted to be. I am happy in my life. I seek a healthy functioning relationship with a partner who is strong, and yet sensitive to the needs of others. I am willing to wait for the right match in my life.

My philosophy:
I love the writings of Jesus, Eckhart Tolle, Depak Chopra, and Daniel Goleman so my motivation in life hopefully mirrors these authors and teachings. I am not a zealot so don't worry, I won't be converting you. I am a spiritual person who is respectful of other peoples' beliefs/religions.

My political orientation:
I voted for Obama so if you were a Bush/Iraq war supporter I don't think we would have much in common. I love the "Colbert Report" and "The Daily Show" so that in a nutshell speaks volumes about my political leanings. That means, yes, I am a liberal democrat and support equal rights for all; that includes our planet, too.

My Style:
I am considered fashion forward, not a slave to it, but definitively contemporary classic/romantic. So you won't see me "skanking out" even if it is Halloween! I am artistic, unique, warm, affectionate and have a great sense of humor...I can and will be sarcastic, on occasion. I am playful and child-like without being childish, so I feel that balances my serious side.

My preferred activities are:
I absolutely love new alternative rock and electronic music...going to concerts, museums, weekend explorations, dancing, being quiet, reading, watching cinema (indie and foreign film my favorites) but like action flicks, too; hiking, swimming and nature/outdoor adventures. I am also interested in learning how to snow & water ski, and scuba dive, so if you're into that, I am willing to learn. My hope is to share these activities and events with my special someone.

Qualities I am looking for in a partner:
Kindness is my number one requirement in my relationship with someone. That means if you're cruel, arrogant or narcisstic you won't be scoring any points with me. I want to be with someone who is actively engaged in "doing their own work", meaning someone who is familiar with the practice of honest self-appraisal and takes responsibility for their life the good and not so good choices. A good communicator who isn't afraid of intimacy and doesn't define that as being joined at the hip would be compatible with me. If you don't live in my town, that's fine. I believe you can have a good relationship that is in our general region (Bay area-Sac). We can have our own friendships and interests without compromising ourselves or our relationship.
