Rather than copy and paste everything that's on my spam account, I'll start from scratch on here. (Nov 10th - just found out that giving out the cell number is a no-no. Why doesn't anyone tell me this crap BEFOREHAND? :) )

I am a recently separated, single parent, living just south of York, PA. My nine year old son and I are still transitioning and trying to get into a routine, but we're not doing too bad. My son's grades are the best that they've ever been, he's now permitted to socialize with his friends from school, and his appetite has improved. (even if he "would" eat nothing but chicken fingers and fries for the rest of his life if I let him)

I'm finding that being single again agrees with me. After twelve years, it's exciting to talk to, meet and hang out with new people. There are so many varied and wonderful personalities out there and it's a lot of fun learning about new people. I've really enjoyed the company I've been keeping and though my body may shut down from sleep deprivation at some point, I've been having a blast BS'ing.

Hobbies? Hmmm...working on getting back to doing those again. I take my son fishing on occasion, used to tinker with woodworking, haven't skied since high school, hiked around Iron Age hill forts when we lived in England, suck at pool but still like playing it...it's a work in progress.

I did take my son to Busch Gardens in October and introduced him to his first experience riding roller coasters. The profile photo is from that trip. A fantastic trip and Hallowscream was a riot!

It would be foolish to go too deeply into goals and aspirations. I would imagine that I have the same general dreams and desires that anyone else does. To be successful in life and in love, and be able to wake up most mornings happy to begin the day. I'm not shy and have no issues with talking openly, but I'll save that for a conversation.

"Uniqueness" is something that I excel at and I'm not overly disappointed in who I am as a person. I see on profiles regularly about "not wanting to play games," but their profile pick is 15 years old. Or, "wants honesty," but can't take a little blunt truth when they hear it. The only game I'm playing is Pirates, on FB, and I only check that a couple times a week anymore. And honest? Oh, yes; I have no compunction about saying whatever I'm thinking.

Music-wise, 80's punk will always remain near and dear to me; and 80's hair bands and alternative have a nostalgic charm. But, you're just as likely to hear Enya or Tori Amos at 100 decibels on 695 during the morning commute as you are the Descendents or Motley Crue. No piece of electronic equipment or technology in my home or vehicle plays country though. I'll happily put Carmina Burana on, but one will never see me wearing a belt buckle larger than my head, nor line dancing, nor pining for the glory days of red, plaid flannel shirts with faux pearl buttons on them.

First date preferences? Whatever is FUN. If you're a conversationalist, then dinner can be a great time; if you're shy, I may fling peas at you from my plate. Coffee is always good and a little less "date" oriented than dinner. I'm curious if the coffee shop in Laurel, MD, "Something Special" is still open; haven't been around there since the early 90's and it was a kitchy and cool coffee shop.

I'll do mini-golf, movies, walks, grocery shopping or strip Scrabble; it's really down to how well I get along with someone and the comfort level after talking with them for a while and ensuring that I don't need an armed escort to meet them in person.
