About Me
Single, professional (employed), still looking for the one. I have a great sense of humor...friends at work always say I make them laugh. I get that from my dad...he's a hoot. I'm dependable, loyal, and have a heart for people and relationships. Love kids...love old folks. Seems I'm always drawn to those populations.
My main hobby is music...I do own a guitar and piano and have played since I was 8, however in later years, it's become more of a listening/collecting hobby than playing. I enjoy going to concerts, plays/shows and holes in the wall with great live music. Movies are a great "pasttime" for me, classics and newbies alike. I'm also a Friends buff (still think it's the best comedy show ever) and own all the seasons on dvd. Also own Golden Girls (another great comedy) and entire 24 series (Jack Bauer rocks!).
Mostly I enjoy spending time with people I enjoy...it's never really mattered much to me what "we" did as long as I was with someone I enjoyed. I like cooking and hanging out with friends (yours or mine or both). I enjoy traveling..I worked in gospel music for 10 years and did quite a bit...unfortunately, the way we traveled I didn't get to see a lot that I wanted to in the places we worked. I'd like to do more travel for pleasure now.
I enjoy taking pictures, always have...it is a goal of mine to get a great camera and develop this talent. Landscapes are best for me, but people are great too.
My favorite place in Nashville is Radnor Lake...there is no better place in the fall, especially.
My favorite places to eat...well, it's a wide range. I love Mexican and Italian food best...Japanese/Chinese is pretty high on the list as well. I love holes in the wall that only the locals know about. I haven't met a pizza I didn't like.
Music...pretty eclectic in that regard. My iPod could be called to the witness stand to testify. Basically, I love anything but rap. Country (old and new), rock, jazz, r&b, big band, pop...you name it.
I'm looking for a man's man who is capable and interested in committing to family. I believe a relationship works best when each party strives to outlove the other (I believe that phrase/idea came from David Jeremiah). I'm not really interested in keeping score. Honesty is a must...dependable, kindhearted and someone who loves to laugh is attractive to me.
Superficial or not, I won't date someone who isn't at least 6'0" tall. It's just not comfortable for me to be the taller party...and I want to be able to wear shoes. :)
Non-religious need not contact me. I believe in God and to quote Ellen Burstyn, "Jesus is my guru."
First Date
Depends on the day really, but coffee and a walk in the park is nice. I don't tend to go for movies because you can't get to know the person very well. Lunch is better than dinner for first dates usually...and as I said before, I'm not terribly picky about the place.
