Lets start with a few limits to save time. We all have our issues and baggage at this stage in life so why torture ourselves trying to make a brick out of jello. If you're an assault victim and it rules your life, pass me by. I am not here to fix what isn't broken. If you out weigh me, pass me by as I am not attracted to large women and it wouldn't work. If you're mean to your men, pass me by. If you just want a quick thing or you're only looking for a short term thing, pass me by. Life is too short to waste on empty relationships that lead nowhere. If your looking for a new daddy for your 5 kids, pass me by. I don't mind children at all but such a change would be too hard for me at this stage in life. I would not do your family justice. If you have more metal sticking out of you from various piercing(s) then pass me by. I think most of them are ugly. If you're covered in tattoos then pass me by. An artful picture is fine but I find most of them are ugly. Blue ink mixed with brown hair is a poor color combination. Uniqueness is of the soul not the skin.
If you're reading further, than I am happy you're not discouraged so far. I am a very open minded person. I don't dismiss others beliefs and ideas even if they don't match my own. I truly love to discuss differing ideas and sometimes take on new ones I haven't embraced before. Although generally not. We do get set in our ways at times. Can you bring something new into my life and I to yours?
I have many hobbies and bounce from one to the other as I feel the need. Some have kept my attention for many years and others I've left behind for now. Golf is a constant. Flying my airplane is a constant. Many others as I have time and desire. I used to ski but do to an injury I no longer find it enjoyable. I'm always looking for a new activity that connects me to others.
My friends are almost all long term. I am not a shallow person in any way or form. I value loyalty greatly and I do my best to do right with those close to me even when they make mistakes as I hope they feel the same with me. It may be disconcerting for those I newly meet as I try to understand the whole person. Once that has passed than I can relax a bit and enjoy them for who they are.
I find a Genuine smile to be more attractive than any shape. If you are not smiling in your photo I will generally pass you by. My grandmother (long gone now) used to smile warmly when ever she was being photographed even near the end when she was horribly ill. I learned a lot from her. She never hid anything about herself except her pain but if you asked she would quietly admit to it and ask you to keep it to yourself.
I don't mind you having secrets. We all do and I don't mean to pry but there will be very little, if anything, you will be able to hide from me. I would not tell others even if the relationship went sour. Can you deal with that?
Don't lie to me. If you need to keep something to yourself then just don't tell it. I can tell when almost anyone is lying and it will just get me upset at the lack of trust.
I have my goals in life that I chase relentlessly but they are not easy to relate. I don't live to work, I work to live. I prefer a supporting role rather than the lead. I like being the background player the makes the whole show work. I have always been an active person. Regular exercise has been a part of my life but I'm not a fanatic. I would rather be playing in a baseball (even poorly) than watching it. Would you rather play along or watch me?
I prefer a blend of music, I can listen to country, rock, some pop, classical (very loud), but I prefer blues the most. I play several instruments for relaxation but I never mastered any of them. Can you sing? If so that would be truly wonderful.
I write for relaxation and maybe someday I will have something other than short stories published. For now, I don't really care if It makes me any money.
Do you have an artistic bent? That would be very nice indeed.
I have far more education than a BS degree and have traveled a bit to foreign lands. I'm not a great traveler but I have traveled. All places had their challengers and fun. I've found that people are really the same wherever one travels. It is the situation that changes. I would love to fly an airplane from here to the southwest and view the parks and such. It might be mostly boring but it might not too. Alone it would be boring.
So, if you have a spark of life to you and an enjoyment of adventure (mixed with quiet reflection) than lets get together and see if it works for both of us. I will leave the rest for you to discover.

Probably a casual lunch or dinner at some restaurant. It usually a simple start. The first meeting is always best if it is simple. We are trying each other out to see if it is possible and even a good match. Minimal pressure and if it is a poor match than nothing is lost on either side. The second date is where things start to come out. On that I prefer to do something active. Flying somewhere in my airplane, a boat ride in Casco bay, or even a hike somewhere. The activity isn't as important as seeing how we interact together doing something of mutual interest. After that, who knows.
